The parents of my spouse are planning to come visit us in the US on tourist visas. My spouse is currently in the AOS process (biometrics are done, just waiting for advanced parole and a green card interview date). My spouse did an AOS from a tourist visa. Is there a risk that her parents might be turned away at the boarder? If there is a risk, is it high, and are there any ways to mitigate the risk?

Hello, Does anyone know if NVC requires just the Police Certificate, or do they require Police, Imprisonment, and Court records? The document upload screen only says Police Certificate (Peru); however, in the Document Finder tool, the section states "Police, Court, Prison Records" and lists three separate documents: (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Peru.html) - Police Records
- Imprisonment Records
- Court Records
Unclear here if only to submit just the Police Certificate (Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales), or if I need all 3 of them for the NVC? Thank you!

I am in the process of applying for IR-1/CR-1 visas for my wife and 6-year-old stepdaughter. We recently got to the point where we're in the NVC system and were asked to provide all of their address/work/school/family history, etc. I completed the information for my wife, but we just noticed that my stepdaughter's passport is expired, so I can't complete the process for her application until we renew the passport. Unfortunately, there are no appointments for passport renewals here in Lima until next January. We're considering traveling to another city in Peru to renew the passport, but it would require a plane trip. So my question is this. With my wife's information complete, will the process of scheduling the visa interview move forward, or do we need to complete both applications in order for that to happen? Since it will probably be a number of months before we get an interview appointment, maybe we can wait until January to renew my stepdaughter's passport and avoid having to make a trip. But if we need to complete both application in order to keep the process moving forward, we will bite the bullet and make a trip. So can anyone tell me if the process will move forward if my wife's information is complete but my stepdaughter's isn't?

Hello community, Me and my wife are about to file this form, along with proff of marriage bona-fide, and we have never lived together nor have any properties, file taxes together, etc. we only have plane tickets, gifts we made for each other, pictures (circa 2014-2021), from vacations we have spent together, to our wedding this last august, also conversations we have daily, but we feel ike it s probably not enough and we re a bit nervous about that. We also have two affidavits, one from a close friend and one from her father. So my question is if that s good enough or not?

Submit Police Certificate at Embassy instead of NVC |

Is it possible to submit the police certificate at the embassy rather than during the NVC process? The NVC is requesting a police certificate from Peru. However, my partner is currently visiting me in the US. Peru states he has to be present in person in order to request the police certificate and cannot do so while he is visiting in the US. Would there be an issue if we submit in writing this issue, with the hopes of getting the police certificate during the US embassy interview?
