Been seeing mixed messages about whether getting married on a K1 before applying for a SSN is a bad idea or not. Situation - Fiancé and I will fly from Peru on Nov 1 to my parents house. My father is a minister and wants to marry us there that before we travel to my city. Talked to county clerk already and got application and a form to fill out if your partner doesn't have a SSN. Seemed pretty straight forward. Will I have problems with the SSN office, trying to apply after marriage? Would like to get her SSN as soon as I can. Should I apply with her maiden name? Not sure if this could cause problems with AOS.

They sent more yesterday. From what I've seen they've all been cases that got to the NVC in April 2020. Good news is that all that have been sent down have quick turnaround interviews, like all interviews set for June, for example. I know some people that were "At NVC" since June 2020 and July 2020, so will have a good idea for timeline once theirs go through. Well probably no new info until June 22nd, so I'll keep ya in the loop.

I heard they finally sent a batch of visas to Lima, I believe first time since March 2020. Mine wasn't in that group unfortunately. I heard that they only ship every other Tuesday and Wednesday, so next possibility being June 8th and 9th. My question - is there any reason to check CEAC status outside of that time? Can it update to in transit or some other status before then?

Finally called the NVC and got my case number at least. Stuck on the "AT NVC" status. The lady said they wouldn't contact me or do anything further until the Lima embassy is accepting routine visa appointments again. Not sure how long that will take. Is there anything I could be working on or just wait patiently until the welcome letter comes?
