US Immigration from Pakistan

RFE was for birth certificate and I-944. After we submitted the RFE on March 5, I-944 was scrapped a few days later. We thought this would speed up our process but we just never heard back. We tried to call them but could not get to someone so we did live chat on their website.

Agent said that if USPS website showed I-944 was delivered, it is indeed delivered and that we should wait up to 60 days according to their policy.

On May 5th, I do a live chat again and the agent said an officer will contact us within 15-30 days. Method of contact would be email. They provided a case number.

It has now been around 17 days since that last live chat and we STILL have not heard back. Is this common practice? We had absolutely nothing wrong on our application. Even the RFE for birth certificate was probably because they misplaced or lost the birth certificate from original submission.

Wife does not have an ID or SSN yet. No biometrics. So frustrating.

Is US embassy in Islamabad open?? Also what month visas are being processed? Please update

Hi everyone my mother case been accepted by NVC and now we are waiting for interview at embassy in Islamabad any idea how long is waiting time ? Case been accepted in Jan 2021

I am a US Citizen and I filed for my parents (residing in Pakistan) near the end of July 2020.

So far I have only received the receipt of there I-130 application. I have not heard of anything else from USCIS since then.

My receipt notice shows my service center as the Potomac Service Center.

Has anyone received any update similar to my situation?

Also, what category would my parents be? (IR1, IR2 etc)

Trying to see what the timelines are now and if they are processing applications again for parents of US Citizens
