Hi everyone. I am filling out the I-130A form for my wifes I-130 app, she is overseas so I believe that I can fill out the I-130A without her having to sign it on her behalf. I have a quesiton though about filling out I-130A and on page 2 it asks for her parents information. However both her parents have passed away, is that an issue? Should I still fill out the information regardless of her parents passing? My other question about this form is since I am filling it out on my wifes behalf (she is the beneficiary) and she is not in the US she does not have to sign it correct? Lastly I have to fill out the preparer section (Part 6) with my info since she is not in the US and I her sponsor am filling it out the form on her behalf? Thank you everyone in advance who responds and I hope your joruney through this or similar process to be with your loved ones as soon as possible.

Can anyone please chime in and guide me through the following scenario: If a sibling of the IR1 beneficiary overstays their US Visit Visa and/or crosses border and goes to canada to seek asylum there, will this decision/process cause any issue for the beneficiary of IR1 who is waiting for their spousal visa while all this happens? Looking forward to your expertise on this matter as well: @Crazy Cat

Hello everyone, I've been silently following this site for a while and am now in need of some guidance. Here's a breakdown of my situation: -
Issue: Due to an error by our marriage officiant, the marriage date registered in my country differs from the actual date of the ceremony by one day. For instance, if we were married on 09-18-23, the official document states 09-19-23. -
Attempts to Correct: I've made multiple visits to the relevant department in my country and consulted with lawyers. Each time, the general consensus seems to be that I should proceed with my I-130 application despite the discrepancy. The difficulty is that all of my supporting evidence aligns with the actual date of the marriage. -
Challenges: Correcting this error in my country has proven challenging. Officials don't understand why a one-day discrepancy is significant and are thus hesitant to assist. They often dismiss my concerns as trivial. Given this backdrop, I have a few questions: -
Should I submit my application and note the reason for the discrepancy? -
Could this difference in dates pose problems with USCIS? -
Has anyone here faced a similar situation or have any advice on how to handle this? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi everyone. A friend of mine isn't apart of VJ but is facing some issues and wanted to see if there was any insight here to help her. She got married in the UAE and has an official marriage license in Arabic with English translation. The document is issued by the court and has all the official stamps on it. NCV's response every time is "Please replace this with an acceptable marriage certificate from a correct issuing authority." What does this mean? It's been rejected 3 times. Is it because there is no sworn statement from the translator and just an official stamp? Thanks!
