4 years ago, I was refused entry and handed a 5years Ban which will end December 2021.
I had my IR-1" visa interview March 24th 2021. Every question went well After the interview the CO told me she'll keep my Passport but will not approve my visa now, in the next 3-4 days decision will be made concerning it. She handed me Form 221G ( i was expecting the CO to ask me to fill form 212) and another paper showing my right in US.
Still have not heard from the Embassy. My application was updated on the 26th March, 9th of April, 19th and May 17th 2021. I was expecting My status change to "Administrative process" or "Refused" but still showing "Ready" for interview Up till date.
I have called( I was asked to hold on) and send the Embassy message but no reply.
My wife called NVC last month NVC told her that Lagos Consular ask them to send some documents to them which have been forwarded to them.
Please i just want to know if someone have been through this route. What steps should I take. Thanks

Will biological mother’s consent letter cause visa refusal when the mother has become untraceable for 16 years?

I-130 petition under Stepchild IR2 visa category filed by my US citizen wife has just been approved and presently at NVC stage.

My Son, @Ayomipitan currently 16 years old, he does not know his mother because she abandoned my son when he was just 3 months old and refused to return to him till date. Son s mother whereabouts is unknown and same I filled in the DS-260 form because I don t want to lie she s dead. I stated she s alive but DOB and address unknown.

I raised him as a single parents and I sworn to an affidavit of single parents sometimes in 2017 when he needs to get an international passport.

I want to know if it s compulsory for me to get the mother s consent at all cost even when her address or whereabouts is unknown for the past 16 years? Will this Affidavit of Single suffice as a proof of custody? Will this hard-to-get mother s consent letter affect my son s visa approval?

I will be grateful to receive a very helpful advise in this regard. Thanks in advance.

My husband heard back from the NVC, but they states he needed to add one of my transcript tax return. They reopened the civil documents tab ( which now says incomplete), but when he click it says application error does anyone know how to get around this?

Thank you.

K1 Visa Abandonment

My fianc and I filed our I-129F on 5/28/2020 and our case was approved in February (NOA2 received 2/4/21). We haven t heard anything from NVC since then. I submitted an inquiry today. We decided on abandoning the K-1 altogether, getting married online via Utah County, consummating the marriage next month, and just starting over with the spousal visa. I was hesitant about the online wedding, but I m confident about our case.

That being said, I can t help but feel like we re closer than we think, but I also understand that the US Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria is not doing non-immigrant visas at this time. His Canadian permanent residency has been approved and once he is able to settle in at least we will be closer. But I upon realizing it's been a year, I can t help but wonder about if it's a good idea to start over.

I know it s a personal decision, just wondering if anyone has dropped the K1 for the spousal during this time and what was the tipping point?
