USCIS Tier 2

Anyone get a notice that the Tier 2 officer at USCIS will contact you in 1-2 days and they never contact you?

It used to be (2020 -2021) that you could get to a Tier 2 officer pretty easily. I have been waiting a week since the "1-2days" notice and 2 months on an expedite request. They used to respond to expedite requests within 7 days.

Does anyone have any insite? What changed?

Hello!

My husband arrived in the US in July 2021 on a K1 visa. We got married within 90 days and submitted his AOS in October '21. He got his EAD in April '22 and his advanced parole in October '22. We received an RFE for the medical check in October '22 and just completed it. We were planning to mail it this week but I received a notification today (November 8, '22) in his USCIS account that his i-485 is now approved. We are happy to still mail the i-693 but are not sure if it is still necessary. His case is being processed at the Washington DC field office. Has anyone come across this? Appreciate anyone's insight and happy to provide more information.

Edit: His online account never showed that an RFE was sent but we did receive it by mail.

Medically Expedited IR5 Visa in "Ready" Status at Embassy

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the website, so please forgive me if my question formatting is wrong, or I'm not using the forum correctly. I will be glad to correct anything accordingly.

I'll try to keep it brief. I'm sponsoring my parents for an IR5 Visa. Their I-130 was approved, and their applications were at NVC under the "Documentarily Qualified" status before my Mom was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer. She started treatment in our home country, but our lawyer in the US proceeded to apply for an expedite request on medical grounds (for both her and my father). The request was approved in 48 hours. Their files then changed status to "In Transit" and they stayed in that status for 7 days until last week. Exactly 1 week ago the status changed to "Ready." Their cases are being handled at Abu Dhabi, UAE.

They still haven't gotten their interview date or any email notices. This is what CEAC says:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview

Does anyone know how long it can take before they get the email to set their interview date? We're in a hurry because she will need liver surgery after she completes 6 rounds of chemo. We already have health insurance figured out, so as soon she and my Dad arrived, they will have coverage. I just need them to get the interview scheduled.

Will it be much longer before they hear?

Thank you so much!

Iraqi student evacuated Ukraine P2 (USRAP) program

Hello everyone,

Today I have a complicated case and I need your advice in what should I do.

I'm Iraqi citizen, I left Iraq years ago to Ukraine because my family worked with the U.S and allies in Iraq and we got threatened because of that.

I have an immigration case on USRAP p2 program since 2017 and still waiting for interviews.

I used to live in Ukraine on a student temporary resident permit.

After the war I evacuated from Ukraine to Germany but my P2 case is on IOM Eurasia which is based in Kyiv Ukraine, I tried to contact them many many times by phone and email but nothing happened.

I contacted the German office but they said they cannot help me.

A congressman contacted them and they responded about my case that they put all Iraqis P2 cases on hold and they're processing only Ukrainians at this time.

(I don't expect much from the USRAP anymore, I mean I'm waiting since 2017!)

I'm really lost right now and Germany immigration office told me I have until May 23 .

I need your help what should I do, which visa can I apply for?

I cannot go back to Iraq, and I cannot go back to Ukraine.

I'm Iraqi passport holder and I have Ukrainian temporary student resident permit.

Thanks
