I'm finding conflict in the forums. We need not fight.

Per DS-160; an official government document, page 23 it clearly states: Immediate Relatives means fianc /fianc e, spouse (husband/wife), child (son/daughter), or sibling (brother/sister).

This makes K1 visa mission critical.

K1 visa was created in 1970 to make it easier for service men to marry foreign nationals. Not all couples can marry under a CR1 visa due to the foreign nationals laws, religious laws, same-sex laws, just to name a few.

K1 is mission critical!

I'm adjusting status from K1 visa and have my AOS Interview next month. When I submitted my AOS application my wife (USC) was transitioning between jobs so we used her mom (my mother in law) as a joint sponsor. Now my wife and I both have a job and make enough above the level required. Can we not use my mother in law as a joint sponsor anymore? If yes, should I just take an updated i-864 with my wife's information or do I need to do anything else? Do I need to take any of my mother in laws documents if we're not using her as a joint sponsor?

I guess people who filled in the last couple of weeks got the exemption.

My spouse has arrived in DFW airport on July 1st on CR1 visa but till date she hasn t got her SSN yet in address filed in DS-260. We are not able to go to SSN office too as they are all closed.. please suggest what to do?
