We submitted our documents to the NVC on 8/28, and today I received this message: 'Please submit every 2020 W-2/1099 form'. We have already submitted the forms, as requested, but are curious how long this may delay the application's processing. Has anyone read about the potential delays caused by requests for additional documents? Would calling the NVC and inquiring have any potential benefit?

Also, what is the likely wait time from the NVC accepting the documents to scheduling an embassy interview for an IR1 visa (will be interviewing in Budapest). Any information is kindly appreciated!

My fiance and I got married this past week and going to fill out the paperwork for AOS based on a K1 visa.

I'm familiar with the type of documents to file and the additional documents needed but it is unclear how much and what type of evidence regarding the marriage/relationship should be included.

Obviously a certified copy of the marriage license will be submitted. We are going to comingle our finances in the coming weeks, be listed as a beneficiary on health and life insurance. Is it enough to bring these documents to the interview in the future or should we wait with the filing and include them as well?

Is there a possibility to extend a green card visa's first 6 mo deadline to travel. My parents have received their visa in August, they have put their house on sale, but with covid and winter there is not much movement at all. They would have to travel by jan 29 and if they do not sell the house by then, they will not want to leave it. Since they are both elderly, i do not want to put them through extra travel unnecessarily - especially with all the complexities of covid - just to get them step on US soil then travel back. Additionally i would have to travel home, bring them here, travel back with them and then come back home to the US again. Its just too much.

If it is possible, what papers do i need to process and when should i do it? Now or wait until closer to expiration?

My USCIS priority date is different with my NVC Priority date.

USCIS is 25.january 2021

NVC is 15 March 2021.

Is there any problem with that I thought the both agencies should work on the same priority date. If this is important or serious or will affect the or delayed my case. Please help me.

I'm a Hungarian citizen and take a couple of different prescription drugs for epilepsy and in Hungary I don't have to pay anything for them since I have public insurance. But healthcare is very different in the US and I'm concerned about being able to pay for my medication. Does anyone know if I'd be able to sign up for insurance, or what type of visa do I need to apply for in order to be eligible for insurance (we're planning on possibly applying for K-1 with my boyfriend), or how does it even work?
