Hello, Admin team, please move my topic if this is not the proper forum. Thanks. My Canadian passport will be expired some time next year and I will have to apply to renew my passport, which will mean I will be without my Canadian passport for 4 months or so until I receive a new one. During the waiting period, can I still get into Canada with my U.S. Green Card? Does anyone know or have the experience? Thanks.

Unfortunately got a review note 2 days ago to resubmit my birth certificate. I just replaced it and submitted it now - but the 'date uploaded' part didn't change, remained at the original upload date last Jul 12, instead of Sep 16. I know that we'll have to wait for 8+ weeks again for the next review, but I'm just worried that this would be lost in the July files and it'll never get reviewed. Is this normal?

Hi guys, I got an RFE last night for a stupid mistake - birth certificate. I already have the correct file, and I've been trying to upload it since last night, but everytime I click on the upload portal (it now says INCOMPLETE vs SUBMITTED), it just always lands on this application error page. Has anyone encountered this? I want to submit it ASAP so the clock can restart as soon as possible. Thank you!!

Hello everyone We got a question about the financial supporting documents. We are filling the I-864 form which also need to the financial supporting documents to upload to the system As my husband income is enough to support me, per the nvc website shown the supporting documents will needed the IRS tax transcripts. However my husband information can't verify in the IRS website, and he try to call the IRS office still having the same problem. He known it must be the social security office have his information wrong and caused it. Anyway he try to fixe it but take quite a long time, as he sent the information to social security office twice but still not updated it. As the IRS tax transcripts might need to take a long time to done. We would like to know if the documents by his employer that's show how much tax he paid in lasted three year can be the supporting documents? (Sorry I can't remember what is that document call..seem like w3 /w5) Appreciate for your answer in advance

i864 minimal requirement? Need a Joint Sponsor? |

Hi all, this is first time posting my concerns in the forum. I have been using VisaJourney to look for my answers for many years and I have always found what I need. But this time I really need you guys to help a little. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. thank you so much! I am a petitioner (US citizen) who is trying to fill out the i864 (the affidavit of support) for immigrating my spouse to the US. We do not have any children and here is my financial picture: - I am a graduating Ph.D. student studying abroad (not in the US) and my stipend is about $40,000 (US dollar) per year. For the past three years of studying, I have been filing US taxes via foreign income exclusion. So the total income in the tax return is $0. Since the stipend would stop once I graduate and move back to the US, my current income would be $0 as well. I don't have any job offer at this point.
- I own a free and clear property (my principal address) in the US with a net worth of about ~$400,000 with my parents living in it.
- I also have a saving account of around $70,000.
- My father who has lived in our home is making $30,000 per year. My mother and father are filed married jointly and do not have any other dependents.
-
I am going to use my assets of the property and the savings and also combine my father as a household member to meet the minimal requirement. Does this sound like a very naive affidavit of support for the USCIS? I am trying to do this all on our own without finding a joint sponsor. Please advice. Any suggestion is appreciated. thank you so much!!!
