Hello here, a little back story about my case(F2A with my child as derivative).

My current DQ is March 2023 and my husband filed a separate 1I30 for our child in August 2023. My husband has finally naturalized and we looking forward to upgrade my case.

However I m wondering if my son and I could be scheduled for same interview date; considering my husband is yet to request an expedite from USCIS to approve our child s case, then to NVC before getting DQ (which will hopefully be in December 2023 or January 2024).

My country has a year long wait from DQ to interview and I wouldn t want to have leave our child behind.

Hi vj fam. How do you make a submission to the embassy? Do you had the 221g letter to the document request by the counselor or You just send the requested document?

I recently moved next door from my parents house, and my address changed one number. I have no problem with my mail coming next door, since our mailboxes are together. Daily I receive photo emails from USPS of what is coming in the mail per day. So I'm not worried about not receiving anything from them. My question is, is it necessary for me to update it with USCIS right now while it's at the NVC? Will it prolong the process Or will it cause a denial if it's not updated?

I do plan to update it once we file for the AOS, but prefer to wait until after the K1 interview, POE, & marriage.

My mom finally go her IR5 visa interview a week ago after a year and half of waiting at the NVC stage. Before that, NVC requested for a marriage certificate between my Mom and Dad which they didn't have . They got married in a traditional ceremony in the 70s and they've been divorced for over 30 years. So I wrote to NVC explaining the circumstances and NCV approved and DQ the petition.

At her Visa interview, the consular didn't asked much questions. But she was asked to bring a marriage certificate and then they kept her passport.

My question is, is Affidavits of marriage from someone who witnessed the traditional wedding ceremony enough proof. or is there any other document she can present to the embassy ?since the marriage was never registered and in this case, there was no married Certificate nor divorce degree.
