Hi all, just filling out the new N-400 version in anticipation of filing for citizenship next month. I am planning on filing online but I am anxious to get this started so here we are. I have noticed that there seems to be some weird dependency between Part 5. 4d and Part 10. 1 when filling out the form in Acrobat Reader. It seems that both answers can only be the same, either both yes or both no. This might just be the case for me, but I thought I'd mention it. So, if you are filing by mail, your spouse lives at the same address as you, AND you make more than 400% of the federal poverty guidelines, or vice versa, triple check your answers!

Hello everyone, This is a new question from a previous thread where I received an RFE for uploading a foreign language document during the petition process without an English translation. Per the instructions on the RFE, I will mail the requested translaiton to the U.S. from Germany. I will get the tracking as well to ensure delivery, but how long should I wait until contacting someone at the USCIS about receiving the RFE? I have the option to upload evidence but it wasn't clearly stated in the RFE that I can provide the proof electronically online via my USCIS account. My questions is, has anyone just submitted the RFE response both ways (via mail & online)? Thanks! -C2G

I just started filling out the online form and will hit the send button tomorrow ( don't want to send my application on April Fools Day ). Hope we'll all have a smooth sailing and get done with this last part of the journey rather quickly A positive note about the new online form that came out today is, that USCIS finally acknowledges 3 year filers in the form when it comes to residency and trips outside. So yeah for that.

Hi VisaJourney! We filed K1 and my interview is pretty soon, on April 9th! I would like some second opinions, regardless that I am almost done collecting all I need for the interview. My fiance is in his last year of university, works on the side but of course we need a joint sponsor, which will be his dad. Like mentioned in the title, his father is self-employed and I have yet to find someone who has their interview in Germany, with a joint sponsor that is self-employed lol! But I guess the same applies if the main petitioner were self-employed. As I have already received instructions for the interview and heard of other people who had their interview in Frankfurt, the only things they want to see are: I-134, IRS transcripts (3y) and W2's (3yrs). Well, of course our joint sponsor does not have W2's. For now I have suggested we get a bank statement from him (I'm also going to bring proof of citizenship for his father, as that obviously wasn't confirmed in the I-129F like with my fiance). But not sure what else to bring, if it's satisfactory. I would be glad to hear from others who know of someone in the same situation and how they did! Thank you!

Trying to figure out what my field office/proccesing center will likely be for N-400 to estimate timelines. I looked up my USCIS field office based on my postal code, but will that be the one handling N-400? Planning to file online.
