US Immigration from Germany

I submitted my i751 a week ago and received my receipt and biometrics appointment date.

However, I noticed that my DOB was incorrect for the online access part, and then checked the submitted form. The year had a typo and was wrong (last digit was supposed to be 2, but I put 4).

What should I do? I am so worried that this will affect my case negatively. Should I submit something online, or wait for the appointment and discuss it there?

Hi, I just gor my greencard last monday and now want to visit my home country as soon as possible. I just suffered a loss of a family member and I am planning to go over there for around 6 weeks. After that I am hoping to start a job here in the U.S. (already applying atm).

Traveling abroad should not be an issue, right? For returning back to the U.S. I was gonna bring my marriage cert, my greencard and the approval letter and maybe a few more USCIS docs I received throughout the last months.

The only thing that worries me a bit is that my passport still is in my "old name" while my greencard has my new name (we hyphenated our last names). However, that should be covered by having the marriage cert. as proof of legal name change, is that correct?

I was going to book my flight tickets in the name that my passport shows (= old name).

Some confirmation or anything else I may need to worry about would be very much appreciated here. thank you!

Hey everyone! We got our interview date at the consulate in Frankfurt. We recieved our interview letter on August 8th, 2025. There is no barcode on the bottom of it so I am concerned.

Also, I am trying to confirm our interview date that was set up by NVC but can't seem to figure out how to confirm it. I already set up the passport delivery part and paid the delivery fee. When I'm on Visa scheduling site that I signed up for to have his passport sent back to him, it says "no interview scheduled ". Help please!

We had our Marriage based green card interview on August 7 at 8:45am.
We walked into the building at 8:15am (thankfully very few people there).
USCIS is the only thing in the building and they are on the 3rd floor. The elevators are just to the right when you walk in the doors.
Security was super easy and they were very nice. They just needed ID and our appointment notice. Basically the same as airport security, everything in a box (belts and things included) and its just a walk through metal detector. We did not have to take our shoes off.
Then there was the check in just on the other side of security. That was super quick, they just asked for the appointment notice and then they took a picture of the green card applicant and scanned his index finger on both hands.
We then were told to take a seat and the number they gave us would be called. our number got called at just about 9am, so in total we waited about 30 minutes after walking in.

We had a very nice officer conducting our interview, she made it very easy.
First thing she asked for was all of the IDs that we had. So for the US Citizen we gave: passport and Real ID drivers license. for the green card applicant we gave: passport, state ID (non-Real ID), social security card, and his EAD card.

She then only asked a few questions about us.
How we met? (she asked me, the US Citizen) - we originally just gave a short answer, but then she wanted to know more.
When we met in person the first time (kinda directed a both of us) - since we met over Covid thats probably why she asked that
and that was pretty much the only questions she asked us about our relationship. The only thing she asked for document wise was to see the original certified copy of our marriage certificate and my husbands original birth certificate.

She then went over the inadmissibility questions from the I-485 - every answer was basically no, except for 2. one of which we had chosen the incorrect option, which she was able to fix. those questions were "Have you EVER violated the terms or conditions of your nonimmigrant status?" since he technically overstayed his K-1 visa, this answer should have been yes. We informed her of the overstay, she added a note of when his I-94 expired and the date when our AOS was filed, and then said it wasn't an issue anyway. the other question we answered yes to was "have you been unlawfully present in the United States? " again for the same reason above.

She then explained that she didn't see any issues with our application and she was going to mark it for approval, but it would go to a supervisor for the final approval. But that we should see an update in the system within the next day.
She also explained next steps for removing the conditions on the green card and when he can do that, as well as the time frame for when he could apply for citizenship if he chose to do so.

For those who remember, we were one of the couples who chose the adjustment category "Spouse of a U.S. Citizen" instead of "Person admitted to the United States as a fianc (e) or child of a fianc (e) of a U.S. citizen (K-1/K-2 Nonimmigrant)." We did bring this up at the end of the interview when she asked if we had any questions. She said she knew it was a I-129f anyway and it was in the system that it was, so it was getting marked as a conditional green card and it wasn't a big deal.

Overall it was a very easy experience and much less stressful than we were expecting.

my interview is coming up and we are finalizing our binder with documents. We are hesitant with our joint sponsors document. In the interview appointment notice it says "If required, a completed form I-864 with all required evidence (unless already submitted).

Now, we submitted everything already with our AOS application. Later on it states under "If your eligibility is based on your marriage, in addition to your husband or wife coming to the interview with you, bring:"

And then it lists this: "The originals and copies of each supporting document you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep your originals for our records.".

This is where we are unsure on whether this includes everything submitted with the I-864 as well. Our joint sponsor probably would not want us to run around with his original birth certificate and passport/ID.

Does anyone have an answer here?
