So my husband's GC is expiring in a little less than 6 months (April 2025) so we applied for his GC Renewal through a I-90 Form submitted online. I read that it would take in average 2 years to get the new green card (USCIS Processing Times for I-90 / Renewal on the website), but to our surprise, after only 2 business days, we got a notification that the I-90 Form was approved and the new card is being produced. When we got the notification email that the case status had changed, we expected that it would be the appointment for biometrics, but no. It was a nice surprise!

Hello friends. HELP! I am helping a relative that just got their interview scheduled on the 17th of December 2024 in Djibouti. I went in to check if everything was ok for the interview and they sent an incomplete on where you submit your civil docs. They said the I 864 EZ was missing. How could that be we filed for the I 864 showing the immigrant and her 2 kids are immigrating. I thought if you answered a No to one of the questions on the I 864EZ form that means you file the I 864. I am confused of what to do for them. Should i submit the I 864 EZ form to them and indicate this is the wrong form or do an inquiry and tell them there was an error on the NVC website. There is not enough time and we don't want any delays. Your help is truly appreciated.

Hi everyone. Does anyone know anything about Djibouti interviews. My friend has an appointment coming up in December and would like to know if they are requesting the people who have interviews confirm that they are coming to the interview. As far as i know you just attend the interview with your appointment letter and confirmation letter and other civil docs. Your help is truly appreciated.

I'm sorry in advance if this is the wrong tab to post this under... I wasn't sure. So as of October 25, USCIS has sent our file to the Dept. of State. (I suppose this is the same as NVC?) I was looking at the timeline and noticed that there are more fees for processing: - Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee
- Affidavit of Support Fee.
(above from the NVC website) FYI_ We did not receive the Welcome Letter yet from NVC... just the USCIS case update that they sent on the file. I'm just trying to get everything in order for when we do receive the Welcome Letter. I know that we don't pay these fees until we receive the letter from NVC. Oh, and question on that note: who will receive this Welcome Letter? My Fiance or me? Does anyone know if we must pay these processing fees twice? (As in: Once for my fiance and once for his daughter?) I don't see it clearly explained how dependent children intending to come with the K1 Visa beneficiary are supposed to be handled in the paperwork process. Any info is greatly appreciated. TIA!

Can I change my name at the Oath Ceremony with a N-565 form? |

Please kindly read carefully [text violating the Terms of Service removed by Moderation]: - I want to change my name to that of my grandmother to honor her because she raised me (as my parents could not).
- My N-400 was approved but during my interview the USCIS officer told me she could not change my name through the N-400 because my name needed to match my divorce decree,
- My oath ceremony is scheduled in 12 days,
- An immigration lawyer told me that I can still file a form N-565 at the Oath Ceremony and have my name change done right there and then,
- Yes a judge will be at the Oath Ceremony
- For obvious reasons, I am trying to avoid hiring an immigration lawyer (I have filed all my documents by myself from K-1 to N-400),
- For obvious reasons, I am trying to avoid going to court after naturalization to get my name change because then I would need to require another naturalization certificate and that takes months.
I am looking at the N-565 form and it seems that none of the options apply to me. Did anyone do that AT THE OATH CEREMONY? How did you do fill this form? n-565.pdf
