Hello everyone !

As mentionned earlier in June 2022 filers, our I-130 has been approved on May 26th with no RFE and find the approval notice in the document tab (We did not receive any mail or e-mail). It says the case was sent to the DOS on June, 2, 2023.

As of today, we did not received the welcome letter neither by mail or email. In the NVC website, processing times state that : "Current case creation time frame: As of 20-Jun-23, we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 5-Jun-23"

Is there anyone in the same situation with about the same date ?

I just hope everything is ok !

Thanks for the feedback

Transfer or not to transfer case to Paris

Hello everyone. French citizen who applied from lebanon because my wife and i were working abroad at the time. I have been dq since the 2nd of March. The problem is that it has already been 3 months and a half, and since the timeline seemed off for the interview I decided to search for local group on social media and discovered that many people have been stuck in Lebanon under cr1/ir1 visas since January. Apparently the embassy is very slow and it could be linked to the newly appointed ambassador.

I have been pondering transferring my case to Paris.

The case is still at the nvc from what i gathered.

Can anyone advise me or give me any kind of timeline on that please? I'm afraid moving the case might mean new documents to produce and more time lost. I don't think I'll get anything under 4 months if I stay in Lebanon, and I'm wondering if it could be shorter and better taken care of in France? Will they consider me as a newly interview request or take in account my file and push it forward in your opinion. Priority date is June 2021, 19 months in process already..

Ty for all the help.

DCF Paris short job notice with long stay student visa

Hello everyone!

Long story short, I am an american citizen who has been living in France for the past 2.5 years on a long stay student visa, working as an apprentice in a French company. I met a french man, fell in love, and now I have received an official job offer starting in the fall back in the states (4 - 5 months away).

After spending a lot of time researching our options, my conjoint and I have decided to get married and request DCF with exceptional circumstances (short notice job relocation) while I am still a legal resident of France and before I move back. My fianc and I have recently submitted our marriage file to the city hall here in France, with our marriage date set for mid-august. I plan on emailing the embassy in Paris shortly after the wedding with the attached documents (sponsor's proof of US citizenship and titre de s jour in France, my fianc 's birth certificate and passport, our marriage certificate, and my job offer in the US) to request DCF.

I guess my question is, is DCF still possible with a long stay student visa, given that I have a current work contract in France? My visa does not expire until March 2024, and I will be moving back to the US long before that (fall 2023), and I definitely have proof of living in France legally for over 6 months. I understand that only the embassy has the authority to make the decision on whether they accept the request to file directly or not, but maybe it would help calm my stress if I knew there were other people who have been through similar circumstances.

Another question : what forms of payment are accepted at the french embassy? Cash (in dollars), credit card, and/or money orders from an american bank?

We are already in the process of gathering all the required documentation and filling out the i-130 and i-130a. As I am very stressed about this process, I am adamant about having all our ducks in a row before the marriage to help expedite the process if we are accepted (hopefully). Thank you in advance for your responses and advice, this community has already provided so much information and hope.

My Fiancée has been approved

My Fianc e from France has just been approved. We submitted a K-1 Visa petition on November 1st, 2021, it has long last been approved. So, with the approval letter in hand, we've noticed that there is no mention of what the next step in our progression would be. There's no mention regarding the NVC. But they do say on this form, I-797, that our petition has been approved and forwarded to the consulate listed. Well, there isn't a consulate listed anywhere on this form. Can anyone provide us with any guidance as to what the next step will be? We've always assumed that the petition would be sent to the NVC upon acceptance of our petition, but with no NVC mentioned, it appears that the next step for us would be for her to attend an interview at the American Embassy in Paris. Are we correct in this regard?

Filing online - USCIS Online Account Number?

Hi there! Back after a long absence... I have been eligible to apply for citizenship for years but couldn't find the motivation to deal with the USCIS again, lol!

Anyways, I started my form online and it's asking me if I have USCIS Online Account Number. Did I not get one by creating the account necessary to file online? I can't find any number. The instructions say that it should be in the Profile section, but I don't see such a section??

I haven't dealt with the USCIS since my ROC in 2014 and apparently the online account I had back then didn't exist anymore, so I had to create a new one.

Where do I find that number? Or do I not have one?? I want to be sure that I can follow my N-400 process online.
