I am sponsoring my husband from Dominican Republic. The only thing I have heard from uscis was the notification that they had received my paperwork on June 30th, 2020. I get emails from this site saying estimates that we could be approved around late May- late June. While that is extremely exciting if that s true, my employer who is a lawyer looked into my case filing center and apparently they are still working on November 2019 cases ugh. I m really wondering if there is any way to know or even estimate when we could be approved at this point. Or anything to do to speed things up? I know Covid made some major delays in their offices. Also for a household of 2, just my husband and I, how much money do I have to show that I make?

Hi I am going to be petitioning my spouse through the I130 form, my worry is that I have done a K1 petition before with my ex husband, things did not work out and I remarried, we have been friends for years and we became more than that two years ago, I have gone to DR many times to visit him, i have pictures and letters from family members that can speak on our relationship, not sure if anyone would know of any additional things I can put that would help my case, any thing helps, thanks

Hello fellow VJers. Here is our situation. I'm a UCS and my three stepchildren have been DQ at NVC since May 2020. Our embassy is Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Hopefully we may be getting close to an interview. During the waiting process, my then 17 year old stepdaughter became pregnant and had a baby. She is now 18. The baby is 2 months old. The father (a Dominican national) is in the picture and a good provider. She is still unmarried. We know that she is still eligible for the IR-2 child of a UCS category. I'm thinking that my stepdaughter should tell the Consular Officer at the interview about the baby? We always want to be as transparent as possible. We are also thinking she should have the baby's birth certificate on hand at the interview? The father will approve of the baby traveling but we are also thinking that we would be unable to petition for the baby since she is a grandchild to my wife (a Permanent Resident) and a step grandchild to me (a UCS). What are her options regarding the baby? We are thinking that she can wait up to 6 months to travel after visa in hand to give her more time with the baby. We are thinking there is absolutely no way that the baby will be able to travel with her after she has her visa? If she comes, of course she will be separated from the baby and would have to file her own petition for the baby as a Permanent Resident. Would we be able to count the father's income on the affidavit being in another country? We know that this complicated everything for her case but she was with her grandmother and all of this happened during the process. There are a lot of factors at play here and we just need some guidance in order to know what our options actually are. Any information would be helpful. Thank you for your time.

Has anybody gotten a checklist for leaving space in blank when a question doesn't apply to you? Also did you type in Upper Case Letter? I am not even able to type N/A or None on I864, it doesn't allow me to do it. I was thinking of handwriting N/A and None but them there would be too many N/As and NONEs. 70% of the question doesn't apply to us, I am only sponsoring my mother and I am not using preparer, interpreter, assets or neither to add more info. Help plz

Hi everyone, it's been a while since 'I've visited this fine establishment. I have my N-400 interview tomorrow and I have some concerns. I've been a legal permanent resident (though marriage to a US Citizen) since 2011 and an un-restricted one since 2013. My green card still has 2 years left on it and I never filed for the N-400 because I didn't have the funds or the need really to do so. However, My wife and I (though still legally married) separated in December of 2019, My brother gifted me the filing fee for my birthday last year and I filed in October of 2020. I'm not concerned about the civics test or the writing/oral exam, what I'm concerned about is what I need to bring to the interview, I understand that since I've been a permanent resident for more than 5 years that my marital status shouldn't matter. Am I right or should I be concerned? Thank you in advance for your help.
