Question About DS-160 – Visa Renewal and Interview Waiver Eligibility

Hi,

I have a quick question regarding my friend's B1/B2 visa renewal. We believe she may qualify for the interview waiver. She currently holds a 10-year multiple-entry B1/B2 visa issued in 2014, which is about to expire.

It s important to note that she has never used this B1/B2 visa to enter the U.S. However, she did travel to the U.S. once under a J1 visa in 2019 for a summer work program, and that was her only visit to the U.S. so far.

While completing the DS-160 form, there's a question under "Previous U.S. Visas" asking:

"Date Last Visa Was Issued?"

We re unsure whether to list the B1/B2 visa from 2014 or the J1 visa from 2019, especially since she is applying to renew the B1/B2 and the following question asks if she is applying for the same type of visa.

Could you clarify which date should be entered in that field?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Hey everybody, I wanted to see what everybody thought about the evidence we sent in for our I-751. Here s what we sent

- lease agreement with both of our names

-6 months worth of bank statements with both our names on the account

- 2023 & 2024 taxes we filed jointly

- my life insurance with my husband listed as the beneficiary

- 20 photos of us together and with both of our families

- I believe we sent the car insurance with both of our names on it but can t remember

- both of our drivers license showing the same address and my last name change to his since him entering the states

- his green card copy

i believe this is enough evidence for us. Waiting on approval so the countdown begins .

Hey everybody, my husband has his two year green card which expires on May 13. We have already filed the I-751 at the end of February and have also received the extension letter for 48 months. He is traveling back to his home country on April 22 and will return on May 3. His GC will still be valid but he s also taking with him the extension letter to be on the safe side. Do we have anything to worry about? I believe we will be fine as we have all the correct documents and he doesn t have a criminal record. These times are hectic and just want some extra comfort.

Adjustment of status for Minor Child, Father is now US citizen Child born overseas prior to dad gaining citizenship

Asking for a friend

his family Wife and Son came here under the Biden CHNV program, he's doing adjustment of status for his wife, what about his son? what paperwork can he do to adjust his status.

I was doing some research and I found out if the child was born after he got his citizen then it would be a simple matter, since the child was born before he got his citizenship, he has to file for imigration papers for his son,

one his son becomes a permanent resident, then the can file citizenship paper for his son.

What form do they have to file to adjust the son, since both Mom and son are here, is there a way to add his son to his wife adjustment of status?

Hello...Welcome!

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together.

Use the USCIS case tracker to follow your case online once you ve received your case number:

https://egov.uscis.gov

Stay patient because this is a long process currently running 7-9 months for your NOA2 (or petition approval by USCIS first stage). Then your petition will be sent to NVC which runs about another additional 8-10 weeks processing (second stage) and finally your interview at the embassy (third stage). Also, do not compare yourself to others....Some will receive NOA-2 faster than others, some will be stuck at NVC for longer and then finally some will receive interviews fairly quickly at embassy. STAY PATIENT and don t compare cases as each embassy/country is different!

Please be sure to create the timeline in your profile. Also note that USCIS goes by "Received date" :

Example

I-129 F Sent - January 2, 2023

I-129 F Received - January 6, 2023 (NOA-1)

I-129 F - Notice Date - January 10, 2023

In this example your NOA-1 should be January 6. This will help you fill out your timeline properly.
