Good morning everyone, I m a little confused and hoping someone can help clarify. I received an FE Review requesting my Schedule C and W-2, which I had already submitted with my affidavit back in October. I went ahead and resubmitted all the documents again. Today, I received another FE Review stating that I need a sponsor, which was also already submitted with my son s affidavit since his income is being counted with mine and we are in the same household. However, less than a minute later, I received two emails saying that all required documents were submitted and that my case is now Documentarily Qualified (DQ). I m confused should I still submit what the FE Review is asking for, or does the DQ status mean everything has already been accepted?

Hello all my name is Erik (United States/Reno/Nevada/Washoe County) and I'm with my fiance Gisell (Dominican Republic/Santo Domingo) and we are starting the K1 Visa process. I really want to make sure that I do everything correctly because we only want to do this once as I'm sure many of you share that sentiment and in doing correctly it will be the fastest. I am legally disabled but do not collect SSI, I collect Survivor's Benefits which I understand do count towards my income. We met on a secure dating website called Boo. I should say she found me and took a chance on me and we fell madly in love. I already spent 34 days with her in the Dominican Republic and will be going back in May to spend 8 months with her there while the process plays out. I will be using a co sponsor on the application as my income is just shy. My Mom will be the co sponsor, but she is also legally disabled and of retirement age, owns her own home and will be using that as collateral for me under the public charge rule. Gisell is not a public charge under any means. Her health is fine and looks that way for the foreseeable future. I just really want to do this correctly and will do anything I need to make sure it is processed correctly. Any help and forwarding of knowledge will really help us out. It's been extremely hard being apart and we just want to be together as soon as possible in the United States. Thank You very much Erik and Gisell

Hi everyone, I had my IR-1 interview yesterday at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid. Overall, the interview went well, but I was issued a white 221(g) requesting updated financial documents from the co-sponsor. The officer explained that the document previously accepted by NVC was a photo taken with a phone, and they needed a more official/professional version. The officer was very kind and clarified that I needed to submit either the co-sponsor s 2024 W-2 or her 2024 tax return transcript. She marked on the paper that the document should be sent by email only (the option to send it by regular mail was not checked). She also kept my passport and original civil documents. I emailed the co-sponsor s 2024 tax return transcript later that same afternoon, on the day of the interview. The officer mentioned that once the document was received, the process could take around 3 4 weeks to be completed. I m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience at the Madrid embassy, especially a 221(g) for financial documents only. How long did it take for your case to move forward after submitting the missing document? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I d appreciate input from those with experience in 221(g) administrative processing, especially cases with multiple CEAC updates. Case basics: -
Immigrant Visa (EB-based), Consular Processing -
Embassy: Santo Domingo -
CEAC status: Refused (221g Administrative Processing) -
Passports: submitted and currently with the embassy -
No additional documents requested -
Principal and derivative cases now updating together -
My nationality: Colombian (born in Venezuela) -
Spouse s nationality: Venezuelan Short timeline: -
Dec 14, 2025: Interview placed under 221(g) -
Feb 18, 2025: Requested 221(g) documents submitted -
Throughout 2025: Several Case Last Updated changes, no status change -
Dec 2 3, 2025: Passports submitted and processed -
Dec 16, 23, 30, 2025: CEAC updated multiple times -
Late Dec: CEAC stopped accepting NA/NA and now requires real passport data -
Jan 7, 2026: Another CEAC update, still shows Refused Questions: -
Is this pattern (frequent updates + passports retained + still Refused ) typical before Issued in 221(g) cases? -
For those who ve been through this, how long did it stay as Refused before changing to Issued ? -
Based on real experience (not speculation), could recent Trump immigration policies affect a consular EB case already at this stage, considering our nationalities? -
At this point, is it better to keep waiting or to email the consulate after a certain amount of time? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share real-world experience.
