So after almost two years of waiting through this process my wife went to her interview. She was there alone and the interviewing officer didn't look at her the entire time, just asked her question after question, which se was able to answer without issue. So when it was over they told her that she would need to provide further documentation, two specific documents. They also said to send these documents via courier to Bogota along with her passport which we already did last week. The strange thing is that when i check the DS-260 status it says "refused". I'm wondering why they would ask her to send her passport along with the documents? That is a critical document that my wife needs to travel and I'm wondering how long it will be held at the embassy? Anyone else experience anything like this?

This guy filed a lawsuit in Maryland alleging undue delay in the processing of his I-130 that they filed in January 2020. He alleges, "The combined delay and failure to act on Vishal Thakur s immigrant visa application is attributable to the failure of Defendants to adhere to their legal duty to avoid unreasonable delays under the INA and the applicable rules and regulations.26. There are no alternative adequate or reasonable forms of relief available to Plaintiff.27. Plaintiff has exhausted all available administrative remedies in pursuit of a resolution of this matter, including repeatedly requesting the processing of their case." Interesting. I read elsewhere that the filing of a lawsuit will sometime speed up the processing our immigration cases. https://www.law360.com/cases/60c11685e65a6202df8a4eab?article_sidebar=1

In preparing the paperwork and supporting documentation for DS-260s for herself and her minor children (my stepchildren), my wife noticed that in the NVC portal her intended visa is correctly reflected as CR1 (we have been married since January 2020, so less than 2 years) but the intended visas of the two kids both show up as IR2. Is this normal, a clerical error on the part of NVC, or...something that we should raise a question about to NVC asap? Thank you very much for any insight or advice!
