The interview for her green card is in San Francisco and my wife only speaks Spanish. My wife insist that some immigration attorney she follows on instagram says its a must to bring a interpreter to the interview? I do not see anywhere in any of the paperwork that says we must bring someone to translate for her. If that was the case I don't even know who I would even bring. Is this true? I would think they would say something to me about making arrangements??

K1 Visa Sealed Envelope and POE Question |

Hi, my fiancee and I just received an approved K1 visa and sealed envelope from Colombia. The instructions provided from the embassy didn't request English translations of the birth certificate and police reports (in this case Colombia and Germany). However, we had them translated anyway. The consulate gave us the translations back (but I don't remember if they did for the birth certificate). The only English translation the instructions stated was needed is if you have a police record, which she does not. I understand that the sealed visa envelope will have the police reports in it. So, my question is: When she goes through POE, do they need to see English translations? Or do they trust that the embassy reviewed the documents and had no issues? What do they look for in the packet to allow you entry?

Hi VJ community, I am posting because I am about to file to bring my 9 year old stepson over.. I feel nervous because this is so important and my husband and I have been waiting patiently for this moment.. So here are my questions (I have tried to search this site and apologize in advance if this needs redirecting)... -How long is this process taking on average from submission to approval? -Besides passport and birth certificate with translations are there any other documents required for bringing a stepchild over? His mother is a part of his life and she is supportive of him coming to live in the US with us... I have a notarized letter from her stating she has met me and I have spent time with her son but is there an official document we need to get for this kind of a situation? -Any tips or experience is welcomed... thank you!

I am about to sent my AOS package but I am not sure where it needs to be sent. I live in Arkansas says that ut should be sent to a lockbox in Phoenix but I see that everybody sends it to a lockbox in Chicago.
