My Dominican Republic citizen friend age 25 was the girlfriend of a 61-year-old US citizen from Houston. Her boyfriend was a naturalized US citizen originally from Mexico. Girl became pregnant. US citizen said he was going to Houston to get the naturalization papers. Girlfriend found out he was married. I think he received a divorce but I'm not certain. Citizen had a massive heart attack and died at 61 last October. Dominican girlfriend has a copy of his passport and driver's license. Deceased citizens name is on the 2-year-old's birth certificate and the 2-year-old has the last name of the deceased citizen. Deceased citizens family unreceptive in trying to help the 2-year-old. Question is how should the Dominican mother proceed with immigration and survivor benefits

Hi, I am in the process to apply for a CR1spouse visa, I recently saw in reddit a person who their marriage cert was rejected as they needed copia del folio seems as it may be a copy of the decree of the marriage (printed in a salmon colour) most notaries will not provide this document the one they provide is the sumarized version . Now I am freaking out cause my notaria refuse to give me a copy of the actual decree. I am wondering colombian people which ones did you provide please?

Visitors Visa for Minor

I am an Americana citizen living in Colombia at the moment. My wife is going through the CR1/IR1 visa.

We are anticipating arriving in USA around December time frame.

My wife's niece, Age 8, would like to come. I am thinking about filing a visitors visa for her. I am the only one who can fill out the forum since the parents cannot understand English.

I would also be the one support the girl when she gets into the USA by providing lodging and food. Reason for visit is that I want to take both of them to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

She will have strong ties to Colombia to return back. She will have her parents and school to return to.

I understand that if the girl was to get approved that my wife would need consent from the parents through a notary for her to leave the country.

I also understand that the girl might not need an interview being that she is under 13 years old.

My question is what would be the odds of her obtaining the Visitor's visa at the age of 8 when her Aunt and Uncle will be applying and supporting the trip?

Thank you for answers in advance.

Hello. My fiance from Colombia lived two years in Argentina when he was younger. We were able to pull the Police Clearance form from the Argentina embassy in Bogota. Does anyone have an example of the Argentina Police Clearance? I know it has to include art. 51 exception. But if anyone has an example of it, it would be very helpful. This is the one they gave us. It includes a fingerprint as well. Just want to make sure it's the right form. Thank you!

Can She Visit?

I just learned this morning that K1 visas take about a year to process and the same timeline is for petitioning a family member.

We haven t decided if we want to get married in her home country or in the United States.

I m a U.S. citizen she is from Colombia.

We want to visit my family this summer or fall but the wait times seem to make it impossible.

When can she visit? We must wait until the K1 interview? If she can visit while the application is filed does she receive some type of document to show the immigration officer after landing in the United States?

As far as actually getting married we were thinking this November but the K1 could push that back. It s amazing how we have to plan our lives around the immigration laws of the United States.

I just want her to meet my family in person.
