Wife's AOS in process, family members entering illegally

December will be 2 years since my wife and I filed for her adjustment of status, while she has her work and travel permit, the residency card ("green card") is still pending as we are waiting to be contacted to schedule the interview. Not sure why it's taking so long, especially that we're in Florida and it happens comparatively fast here.

We recently found that her mom, the husband (not my wife's father) and half-sister are on their way to cross illegally into the US. We found out this morning that they're somewhere in Mexico after crossing from Guatemala. We are NOT giving aid of any sort, nor do they have our address, we're not interested in taking care of them when and if they arrive here. My wife is not on the best of terms with her mom, the husband and half-sister, and rarely speak. They're in communication with another sister of my wife, that's how we found out.

Will they affect my wife's process? What can we do about it? My wife and I aren't supportive of illegal "immigration", as going through this process hasn't been cheap, quick or easy for either of us. My wife is worried that her mom, once in the US will say something to officials like "I have a daughter that lives in the Miami area."

I appreciate any good advice.

Maybe I am looking in the wrong place for this topic but are other people experiencing delays with the NVC?

My I-797 was issued on 5/10/23 and according to the document is valid till 9/9/23. I have reached out to the NVC on two occasions and I am told via email "Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems. Since your case is not in our systems yet, we cannot make updates." The NVC web site says they are working on mid-July files.... Needless to say, the lack of information on my case is frustrating.

Hi everyone,

I would like an advice from you. I'm helping my sister to ask USCIS about her case. I briefly tell you her process : She came here on work visa +10 years ago. She got married around 3 or 4 years ago. She filed I130 & I485 on Nov. 17/2021. Her interview was in Tampa FL. on July/2022. Since that date her case has not any advance. Last month we checked USCIS status it says she can contact them after August 7th. May you help telling me what I should asks USCIS to get positive answers from them.

Thank you

Given 221g Yellow Slip for Divorce Decree Missing Raised Stamp, Passport Kept

We had our Interview at the Bogota Embassy today.

My wife's visa status was given "Refusal" and was given the 221g Yellow paper stating that they need a certified raised seal divorce decree. I wasn't thinking and had thought I had a copy of the raised seal and didn't think to check if it was the real one, because I had so much on my plate.

They kept my wife's passport. Now, I think I am just overthinking this, but I think it is a good thing that they kept it. I am thinking that once they get that final document that they will immediately issue her the CR1 Visa.

My big issue is that I am in Colombia and the divorce decree is in the United States. I don't want to have to fly to Nevada to get it, but if I have to, I just might to get the ball rolling.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?
