Fiance is in Hubei and currently working and wants to minimize taking off work.

Will it be possible to complete the medical in Wuhan or will she have to travel to Guangzhou and can she complete the medical exam on the weekend or is it only on weekdays?

SPOILER ALERT: You may find the process just a little bit intimidating.

Writing my experience entering China.

  • Registered a company in China on Oct 2021.
  • Issued myself a work permit on Nov 20th 2021.
  • Didn't go for PU letter.
  • Flew from Malaysia to Oman on Dec 13th 2021.
  • Applied for Z visa in the Chinese Embassy in Oman on Dec 15th 2021.
  • Got the Z visa on Dec 22nd, 2021.
    Direct flights to China
    Economy: 35k RMB - Business: 46k RMB
Should have a residence permit in Oman.
(Direct flights in Asian regions are managed by Chinese companies and the airline itself cannot sell tickets - To get to those agents just contact the embassy)

Then it got complicated as I don't have residence permit in Oman and I started to give up. There is no way to book a flight from the above mentioned agents without a residence ID.

  • Registered another company in Oman
  • Issued myself an investor ID and that works as residence permit
  • Cost for this only is 3300 OMR ~ $8500
  • Received the ID on Jan5th, 2022

Before you get on board, you'll be asked to do IGG, IGM, and PCR tests 48 hours before boarding. If okay you'll get the final e-ticket and with that you will apply for the green code.

My advice to those with work permit who cannot get PU letter;

  • Chinese embassies in the following countries don't require PU letter;
    Oman, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia
  • If you have a work permit, fly to one of those countries to process your visa.
  • And with your visa you have 3 months until you get to China. Fly back to your country and from there apply for the green code and fly to China. (plz check with the Chinese embassy in your region if they can provide green code for visas issued in other countries).

My advice to those willing to enter China during this turmoil is to wait and look for other chances to connect Chinese markets with those of your region and start a project on your own. The total cost I've paid so far is nearby 19k USD including Chinese company registration. I would've used that money somewhere else but I must be here to supervise my own projects and that's why. From what I've seen from local regulations and precautions, China will not open its boarders before 2023 or 2024 (and that's my own estimation and could be wrong).

Internet has enabled a lot of chances, just use it right and start your business virtually. China will be open for foreigners again and that only takes time.

Peace
Saif

My wife completed a medical exam in China before arriving on her K1 Visa. We were recently married and getting ready to submit our adjustment of status paperwork.

When she completed the medical exam, they did not provide her the DS-3025.

She had one MMR Dose, one Varicella does, and for some reason was not given Tdap.

I'm not sure the best way to go about fixing this. I'm not sure how we can get a completed DS-3025 form with the new vaccines, if we do not have the old copy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Filing AOS and No Td or TDAP vaccine on DS-3025

Hi all,

See attached/uploaded picture of fiance's completed DS-3025. It is marked complete "K Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements", even though there is no record date for Td or TDAP and marked as "D. Not Routinely Available". Fiance doesn't have Td/TDAP shot within the past 10 years.

Does fiance need to get TD/TDAP shot for the AOS process? It seems the instructions require fiance to receive TD/TDAP even if DS-3025 was marked completed.

If need TD/TDAP, Is this a good sequence to follow?

  1. fiance first submit AOS (I-485) with the DS-3025 without TD/TDAP record date.
  2. get TD/TDAP shot within the next few months
  3. have a civil surgeon complete the I-693's vaccination portion (parts 1-5, 7, and 10) before the AOS interview date
  4. fiance bring the I-693's vaccination portion to the AOS interview?

Is it likely that we'll get RFE because TD/TDAP was not administered prior to filing I-485? Does RFE allow fiance to submit updated I-693's vaccination portion during AOS interview?

Do we need to write an explanation in I-485 that "Updated I-693's vaccination portion (parts 1-5, 7, and 10) is to be provided at interview date." ?

We referenced some other threads, but wasn't clear on what to do before and after submitting AOS with DS-3025 that has no record date for TD/TDAP.

Thanks!

N400 Interview with late tax fee - can't contact IRS
8:19 pm December 20, 2021

N400 interview is scheduled for 12/29. In the questionnaire I specified I had no back taxes due (all owed taxes paid), which is still true, however I found out I owe a late fee/penalty from several years ago, which I haven't paid yet, purely because I didn't remember I had to pay it. It is a lousy excuse but it is true.

I just discovered I owe this fee. The tax penalty is for an LLC I own. My personal taxes are paid and up to date. They say the only way to discuss or get on a payment plan for companies is to call the IRS number (for personal taxes you can get transcripts and records online, but not for companies). I've done that for the last 2 weeks straight and each time I call, the IRS hotline disconnects me saying "unfortunately we are unable to handle your call at this time due to high call volumes, please try again later". I have spent hours each day trying to get a hold of them but they always disconnect me. My goal here is to get on a payment plan or negotiate down the penalty but it's impossible without actually getting them on the phone.

I even tried contacting an attorney but the power of attorney they need to help me requires 6 weeks before it is executed. The attorney is powerless to do anything for me until the POA comes back which will be long after the interview.

I am well aware this is all due to poor planning on my part, but it's the situation I'm in.

In short, my only option appears to be to pay the late fee which is several thousand dollars.

Here's my question: has anyone had any experience being interviewed and explaining away a late fee... essentially saying that we want to pay it but we want to get on a payment plan or have an attorney handle it. My fear is because it's several years late, they will see this as being irresponsible.

With 5 years of personal taxes in good standing and never late and this one blip in my LLC, do I stand a chance explaining the situation or do I take the hit, pay the large fee before the interview, knowing that there will be no chance to get that money back from the IRS after the fact if we try to get it lowered or get on a payment plan?

Sorry for the long winded question.

tldr: stated I owe no back taxes on questionnaire, in good standing on all personal taxes, late fee (but taxes paid) for LLC, can't get in touch with IRS, should I pay the large fee to avoid possible risk with interview or take my chances at the interview?

Thank you!
