Hello,

We filed online for CR-1 visa on june 1st 2021, and after 2 days we got an email saying "We have taken an action on your case". We checked the website and nothing has changed.

What could this mean? I find it strange since it's very early.

Thanks!!!

WHERE IS I-130A UPDATED?

Hello everyone,

This is our first post. We are Sim n (Chile) and Elizabeth (USA).

We were organizing all the documents that we're going to submit for the online I-130, and noticed that the I-130A form that we were using was due to 2/28/2021.

So, we checked the USCIS website to see if there was a recent version and the only document available is the same outdated one. Even the I-130 USCIS web (https://my.uscis.gov/), at evidence of support section has a link to this outdated form.

Here we paste what it says in the website (https://www.uscis.gov/i-130) :

USCIS published new form editions for affected forms. Starting April 19, 2021, we will only accept the 03/10/21 editions. Until then, you can also use the prior editions specified on each form webpage.

We are confused and don't want to have our process denied.

If anyone has information we would be thankful.

Hi there,

My husband is from Chile and we are currently working on his adjustment of status package. He is here on a business visa. He is probably about 50% fluent in English, and I am probably about 80% fluent in Spanish. We speak primarily Spanish. In doing the forms, he is able to read and understand the questions and do the forms with minimal help from me. However, when it comes time for our interview, he will definitely want to use an interpreter. My question is, if he checks the box that says I can read and understand English, and I have read and understand every question and instruction on this petition and my answer to every question , is it going to look bad if he shows up to the interview with an interpreter? He can truly understand the English on a form but would be much more comfortable at the interview with an interpreter. I just don t want it to seem like we re lying or anything. I would put myself as the interpreter, but for that I would have to say I am fluent in Spanish, which I don t feel comfortable doing as I am still not 100% of the way there.
Thanks

Sara and Diego

I was in a relationship with an American girl, and we broke up, she got crazy and she told me that she would do everything to me have problems with America. Obviously I never did something ilegal with her or in general, I m completely clean in America and the last time I went there was in March 2020 to see her btw. I have a connection flight in Miami in 4 weeks (I m going to cancun with my family) and i don t want to have problems with the police, there s any chance that she could make anything to me get a denied entry with the ESTA?

Health insurance and ITIN

Hi,

We are in process with our application for my wife (Chilean) to become a US resident after we got married last year. Our forms (I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765) were accepted December 5th 2020 .

I am starting a good job soon with excellent health insurance etc.

I have not spoken to the new employer as I have not received the official offer yet.

But I am wondering if I will be able to get health insurance for her.

I am thinking I should apply for an ITIN number for her.

I filed my taxes for 2020 as a single person.

I believe if I wanted to file a W7 for to apply for an ITIN number I would need to file an amended return.

Anybody have experience of this process?

Any reason not to file for an ITIN?

Could my wife file a tax return with zero income to apply for the ITIN?

Any idea how long the ITIN process takes?

Anybody have experience with getting decent resident health insurance without an SSN or ITIN???

Thanks Martin
