The whole process was smoother than we expected, I think. It took longer than we thought to get our interview, but one reason is because it took a while to get her physical scheduled. If we'd scheduled that as soon as we got the notice from NVC, we might have saved some time. Instead we waited till the embassy had our packet, and then realized it would still take two more months for an opening for a medical appointment. Communication from the federal government was pretty straightforward. But communication from the embassy was usually messy, unclear, and contradicted itself a lot. We spent a lot of time going over the country-specific rules when preparing our interview paperwork packet, and trying to figure out what they actually wanted. I think that was really worth the effort. In the end they saw that everything was in order, skimmed through it, and had her in and out in maybe twenty minutes. After that everything went really fast. They said maybe 4-6 weeks for her visa, but they sent an approval email two days later and she had it in hand in less than a week. Success! |

Thanks for keeping your timeline up to date and for your notes, we really appreciate it! Also congratulations on your success so far and on your wedding. May you have a wonderful life together <3
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
