Hello. I'm not sure I'm in the right place. Our petition was sent to the NVC today after about 7 month from being notified that our application had been approved. I am trying to update our time line but when I enter today's date (2021-08-03) for "Date Package Received By NVC" it apparently conflicts for some reason with our NOA2 date (2021-01-13) and i receive an error message for both dates. Can someone help me please? Thanks

Forgot to sign and put the date on the Copy of the I-129f

Like the title says my fiance signed and put the date of the I-129F that he sent to the USCIS but instead of signing and putting the date on both copies he only did it for one. Now our interview is close and my copy of the I-129F is not signed or dated on the day we sent it. Should we leave it like that and explain it later or should he at least sign it and not put the date? What should we do?

Btw, it's not only the form but all the other pages of the k1 application

Hello Guys, I just found out through the ceac site that our visa is in Trasit. But it says "Your interview date was provided to you by the NVC". How do I check it? do they send a email, or a mail. How do you proceed from now on? I'm the beneficiary. Thank you.

Do I have to be "engaged" to file a K1 Fiance visa?

So long story short. My girlfriend and I want to get married. I am a USA citizen and she is from Brazil. We heard that because of COVID the process to get a visa takes a lot longer than usual. Due to this, my gf and I want to start and submit our K1 visa as soon as we can. Our question is... do we have to be "engaged" to file the K1 visa? The reason why we ask this is because my gf and I want to get engaged/propose in person so I have booked my flights to Brazil at the end of the year.

The question is.... am I still able to file/submit the K1 visa now(in like 2 weeks) without us being "engaged/proposed"?

More information for you guys to know:

  • I've asked her father/parents for her hand. Her and my family know we are planning to get married next year. My future wife and I have decided on where we are going to live and what months we want to get married(this part still depends on when we can get the visa)
  • We've been dating for over a year and a half. I've been to Brazil three times in the last year and a half and am making a fourth trip at the end of this year(want to propose at that time).
  • I can provide my travel itineraries and bank statements of all my transactions that have happened in Brazil
  • We have hundreds of pictures together and have almost 1 GB worth of photos/messaged saved/backed up

Again...we want to know if it is possible to file/submit the K1visa(in like 2 weeks) without us being "engaged/proposed"? We want that special (engagement/proposal) moment to happen in person and that is why we want to wait on getting "engaged" until we see each other again in person. If that doesn't work..... we might have to get engaged online.

Any knowledge/facts would be appreciated! Thank you!

How many times do I need to expedite?

I keep seeing people on VJ say that if you get an expedite approved at USCIS, it doesn't affect anything but USCIS and you'll have to request a new expedite at NVC and then at the embassy.

Is this true?

If so, how does this work for K-1 visas? I've seen several posts that K-1 visa's CAN'T be expedited at NVC because they're "automatically" expedited, but my understanding is that NVC doesn't process your case until the embassy is ready to receive it... and my embassy (Rio de Janeiro) isn't receiving any cases that aren't "emergencies" (which I assume means manually expedited rather than just "it's a K-1"). So... how do I get my case to the embassy if I can't expedite it? This is all so confusing lol. I appreciate any guidance.
