I m a US citizen married to an Australian citizen, living in the US. He originally came here on K1, and we re now waiting for his 10 year green card. However, we are now expecting our first baby & are looking towards the future. We d like to go back to Australia by the time our bub is school-aged, because we feel Australian education is superior to what our child could obtain here in the US. What does the process look like in reverse? I am getting the impression that he may need to move back ahead of me to re-establish home & income there, which is obviously not ideal with a child. Is there any way for me to come with him? I do realize that leaving the US will mean abandoning his future green card, but we are pretty set on this being the eventual path we want to take just not sure how far in advance we need to plan to start the process. Thanks for any info you can share!

Hi, How best to handle and explain a petty/common criminal offence in the application. As part of the NVC process I applied for a police check in which I was shocked to see a record from when I was 18 and having a loud argument with my brother (aged 19 at the time), my mother called the local police as a way of teaching us boys a lesson, she was not aware that the police would be so obtuse in handling the matter and register the event as an assault, even though both my brother and I had simmered down by the time of the police arriving. The next day before work I went to the local court and signed a document explaining I was apologetic to my brother and I would be on 'good behaviour' for 6 months, and that was the last I ever thought of that event until today 13 years later. When filling my DS-260 there is a section to explain my 'criminal record/conviction' how do I best draft an explanation? I am the beneficiary of a CR-1 and the offence occurred when I was younger living in my home country. Thanks all!

I submitted the form DS260 online CEAC. Now I am looking for where to upload the supporting financial documents and AOS forms, etc. However I have uploaded these already on CEAC portal but now they are asking for me to mail or email them ?? confused. On the CEAC there is upload forms section, so does that mean I need to physically mail in the forms to the NVC? Or email? My case is with the Sydney office (SYD). Very confused Thanks!

I'm getting conflicting messages from the CEAC visa status check (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==) and the CEAC submittal portal (https://ceac.state.gov/IV). The CEAC submittal portal is stating my DS-260, I-864 and associated supporting information is submitted, but the CEAC visa status check is asking me to send the NVC my I-864 info. Has anyone else had any similar issues? I've sent a public inquiry to NVC which will hopefully clear things up, just interested to know if I'm not alone in this.

I recently submitted my DS-260 and went over it with a fine-tooth comb about 20 times. Everything is correct, but today I remembered that we transited through a country on one of our flights to the US in 2017 (left the airport and stayed overnight at a hotel before getting back on the plane) and I completely forgot to add it to my countries visited in the last 5 years. Is this something worth unlocking the DS-260 for or should I just flag it at the interview? By the interview stage it will likely be outside the 5 year time frame anyway as the brief visit was in September 2017.
