Questions for Interview

Hi all,

I got my naturalization interview scheduled for next month and I am trying to make sure that I have everything that I need. I did some online research but still have a couple of questions:

Just to provide additional context: My wife is American by birth and we got married in 2015. I got a green card 3 years ago and I applied for naturalization based on the 3 year rule.

- Certified tax returns? I downloaded my tax returns from IRS website, but some webpages say that this is not enough and that you need a "Certified copy" that you need to request by mail. Did anyone need this? Or does the one downloaded from their website work?

- We are having some trouble finding my wife's birth certificate. Would bringing her American passport be good enough to prove her citizenship?

- Should I brin my wife to the interview? The letter only mentions translator and lawyers, but some info online says that I should bring my wife, and others say that she will not be allowed in the building. Any thoughts?

- My appointment is Feb 15, and I travel internationally on March 22. Will I have problems re-entering the country? Not sure how long do thing take, or if they take my green card away when becoming a citizen.

Thank you in advance!

About You

Travel Outside The U.S.

N-400

Have you taken a trip outside of the United States in the last 5 years?

Include short trips that lasted longer than 24 hours and visits to Canada and Mexico.

Maybe a silly question but I m stuck on it!!

I moved to the US in 2019 on CR1 visa (already applied to I-751), and I never travel to another country on those 3 years and some months, but the question is about the past 5 years. I m confused .

I just answer NO because I never leave the US?

Thanks

Hi everyone! It s hard to believe that my window to file for N400 is opening soon!
I m looking for feedback on my application. Based on three year rule.

Form N400

Hubbys BC

2021, 2020 and 2019 IRS tax returns

bank statements from 751 submission til now ( a year). 4 bank statements.

Joint health insurance (both through my employer and his employer)

Joint vehicle insurance for both vehicles.

Joint house deed .

I was thinking of taking pictures, flight reservations, etc etc for the interview (most likely it will be a combo since my 751 is pending).

Any feedback is highly appreciated

Hi everyone! Longtime poster here whose husband came to the US with a K1 a while back. This question is about our 14 year old niece. It's common for girls in Latin America to take a trip to the US around their 15th birthday for their quince era. We are looking into one of those quince era programs where they go on a group to Disneyworld or perhaps having her visit us for a week during her summer vacation since we live near NYC. I'm totally aware that any applicant needs to prove they have a reason to return, etc. and that no one can guarantee she would get a visa.

BUT her parents do not hold US visas and don't plan on traveling with her. Is a 14 year old (who could be 15 by the time of her interview since it could be next year with the backlog) allowed to get a B2 visa if her parents do not have one? Her parents are willing to pay for it and accompany her to the interview. My husband or I would likely be flying with our niece and we would probably end up paying for part of it as her gift. She would not overstay, as she has to return to high school and she can't adjust through us anyway, but I totally understand each applicant has the burden to prove that. But we are just wondering if it is worth her applying at all if her parents wouldn't be getting a visa and would not be traveling with her. I'd love any input! Thank you.

Hello everyone! I have a rather simple question, but I can t find definite answers. Most likely I m overthinking it, but I digress.
I have my main job where I get a w2 in January. However, I have the possibility of having a second job. It s for a company where you work for different customers and you get paid cash (think something like Uber). How does one report that income when it s time to file taxes ?
