My fianc and I just submitted a K-1 package in July (yes I know going the spouse route is better but we have family and logistical reasons why we couldn t do that).

Can he apply to the visa lottery (he meets the qualifications) while our K-1 is pending? At the rate things are moving it feels like the timelines would be similar and he would have a full green card instead of dealing with AOS once he s here on the K-1.

We have a few red flags that make me panic our K-1 will be denied (large age difference, mostly online relationship due to Covid, government restrictions and a 500 day waiting period for a tourist visa interview, prior marriages) and if it won t affect our K-1 review/approval, I would feel more comfortable if we had both in process even though the lottery is a long shot.

i just don t want to do anything that would add yet another red flag to our file for the K-1.

Hello, we have the same doubt. My husband (petitioner) does not arrive with the minimum income, so we would use sponsors (my mother-in-law and her husband, my husband's stepfather). My in-laws are married and file the taxes together. What forms should we file for them? How do we prove the family union of my husband with his stepfather?

Hello! I got my naturalization interview letter for the first week of November. Way faster than expected. I have a few questions because I need to be prepared. Already have an international trip on Thanksgiving for family reasons to my home country. Let s suppose my interview is successful.
1- How can I find out if ATL office has same day oath? How to request it?

2- In case my oath is scheduled after my trip do I still travel with my GC right?

Trying not to stress with the timeline but hey I m a worrier by nature.

We filed and received an acknowledgement for the I-765. With the k-1 visa is an authorization to work for 90 days, according to what I read if we are married and the I-485 and I-765 are filed within the 90 the day period, the authorization to work is automatically extended for up to 540 days. I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly

As an F1 student, you have a restricted social security card.
When your green card comes in the mail, and if you get a conditional green card, do yourself a favor and immediately apply for an unrestricted one.
In a little bit less than two years, you ll be applying for ROC, which is currently talking anywhere from 1.5-3 years. If you need to change jobs in between, and your extension letter expires, if you don t have an unrestricted SS card you most likely won t be able to get a new job. Both of you do have an unrestricted one, together with a valid DL, you ll be fine as per the I-9.
Planning ahead can save you a headache.
