On May 20th, I checked my status online and it said that my AOS application was transferred to California for processing, but today when I checked again, it says that my case was transferreed AGAIN but now to the National Benefits Center! Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal for a case to be transferred twice? Is this part of the process?

Also when I check for the timelines of the National Benefits Center, it does not show any I-485 timeline, it seems like they only process EAD's and AP's.

Please share your comments/thoughts :)

Transfer form CSC back to NBC (MSC) indicates that the adjudicator at CSC decided an interview is required.

Good luck at the AOS interview!

Thank you for your quick response! That is what I was thinking! Oh well, we'll just have to wait and hopefully they will schedule it pretty soon!

I'm in the same boat. Transferred to CSC on Feb 10, 2009, in order to expedite the processing. Transferred back to the NBC April 20. No telling how long it will be before we hear from them, but hopefully soon.

And you haven't heard from them or have any updates since then? :(

Did you also apply for AP and EAD? How did that go?

Look up processing times for I-485 for your local field office, this will give you a good estimate.

Our case was transferred to CSC on May 7.

We got an e-mail yesterday saying that card production had been ordered for EAD.

I guess our case can still get transferred like yours?

Not sure if getting the EAD means no, it won't...

It can always get returned to MSC just like OP's.

EAD (I-765) and AP (I-131) are handled by a different department an NBC, and not tied to the I-485 process.

unless there is an RFE on the I-485 then their is a direct link as the I-131 and I-765 will "suspend" until the I-485 resumes normal processing.

YMMV

No, I have not received any updates on the AOS since the April 20 transfer to NBC. EAD came in less than 30 days, and we applied for it at the same time. Just now sent the AP paperwork.

Thanks for the info. I'm wondering when the clock starts ticking at the service office. I'm not even sure my service office received anything from NBC yet.

Thank you! :) Good luck on your interview too

Today, I received a notice to get my biometrics re-done because apparently they did not take them very well the first time (sigh)! So I was wondering if this might be the reason why they sent my file back to the NBS?

What do you guys think?

Our case got transferred AGAIN to California, (this is the THIRD time it gets transferred). Do you guys have any idea of why would this be? DO you think they will approve us without the interview. IMO, they probably sent us back to the NBS the first time because my biometrics were not taken correctly.. but this is getting confusing, we were sent to California then back to NBS and now back to California again! I wont be re-doing my Biometrics until next week.. so it all seems so strange....
