Community SpotlightAbandoned AOS and now regret it
Mariammaria posted a topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?-

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
gandalf1989 posted a topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures,
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?-

N400: Admitted to Weed during Green Card (was it a crime I was not arrested for?)
Left Over posted a topic in US Citizenship General Discussion,
To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?-

Fiancée threatened with deportation by customs agent after arriving at airport for false accusations. How concerned should we be?
deletedUser21321 posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Firstly, I want to get some things clear because I know everyone will say this otherwise:
We are seeing an immigration attorney for consultation soon. We've already printed out several documents to prove that my fiancée is not coming here with the intent to live here for the future until they get the K-1 Visa... Now, Heres the actual story...- 53 replies
Fiance or Marriage Visa in 2025 ? Pros and cons?
KandB posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.
What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.
I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice from experienced people. Thank you
Ps: is it possible to have dual citizenship so i don't lose one from my home country? How does that work ?- 31 replies
Recent Immigration DiscussionsReconsideration of denied N-400 (that was approved before) - case beyond processing time 3:02 am today

2 RepliesI came to US on marriage based green card, went through a divorce, filed I-751 first time that was denied because my divorce was still in the court. Filed it second time after divorce and also applied for N-400 alongwith. Both were approved in same interview. I was later called for Oath, which I couldnt attend few times because I was travelling and out of state and once I was hospitalized during which the Oath was called for. Because of this, USCIS opened a motion with an intent to deny my approved N-400. I filed N-336 asking for a hearing. I should have heard back from USCIS on N-336 in 180 days but they closed my N-336 with no hearing or decision made and instead re opened N-400.Since I didnt hear back on N-336 I assumed I have to refile N-400 so didnt expect anything from USCIS. I was travelling in and out of US in 2024 for a few months and during this time USCIS send another invite for Oath ceremony, then send another letter cancelling it and set me for a later ceremony. Since I didnt anticipate my N-400 being reopened (in my mind N-336 being closed and N-400 being denied meant my only option is to reapply N-400 when I was back in US), I missed that Oath. That was in Oct 2024. Since then I have been waiting for the Oath and USCIS told me I will be rescheduled for Oath as my N-400 is again active. Its been 9 months and no updates from USCIS. I went to USCIS Infopass appointment and they asked me to wait. I checked with USCIS on phone and they said my case is forwarded to Oath queue and I will hear soon. On USCIS online account, it says my case is now outside normal processing times, so I raised an enquiry using self service tools. I have to travel internationally and I delayed it all these months waiting for an Oath ceremony as I dont want to miss the next one, so I want to do the Oath before I travel.
Progress tab on USCIS shows case decision is complete and the next step is Attend Oath (if approved). If the case decision is completed, what approval is required for the Oath ? Or should I file another N-400 so USCIS will act on my case. What are my options ?

6 RepliesHello all,
just a quick (and may be a silly one) question on time line for case status with USCIS.
when you see Estimated time until your case decision: is updated; how you interpret the months shows? E.g., if Estimated time until your case decision: shows 11 months, does it mean that 11 months are from the original receipt date? Or is it from the day the status was updated?
Thanks in advance!

1 RepliesHi my fiance currently in Honduras went to a pre-checking process the US embassy has in this country for a K1 visa. She was met with th officer at the embassy and she was told to review the instructions and complete part 4. I read the instructions and since I am the petitioner I thought there was no need to complete this part.
My questions is should I have her complete part 4 or write NA on the blanks and sign it?

1 RepliesNot sure where to ask this. We need to apply for a non driver's license for my wife while our i-751 is still in processing. Her green card expired in February but we have the 48 months extension letter. We need to use it with other documents to apply for this license. I don't think it will be an issue but want to ask anyone who has done it before.
