Our AOS was delivered to the Chicago office on 29 November, but the checks still have not been cashed.

What are they waiting for?????

After a long trying ride the attorneys finally got the packet together and mailed out our AOS packet out Decamber 10th. We weren't sure if something happened and they didn't actually get it out. I have been checking the usps site a couple times a day, and finally today.

Status: Arrival at Unit

Your item arrived at 8:09 AM on December 16, 2007 in CHICAGO, IL 60699. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

Hopefully we will get our notice of arrivals and the travel documents show up before our trip in April. The stress has already begun. The what ifs are already starting to pile up. Well I will stop ranting now.

Good luck to all of you.

None of our case numbers are in the system yet either. :crying: We haven't reveived a Biometrics appointment either. :crying::crying: I don't know about anyone, but all 3 of our NOA receipt #'s start w/ MSC. On USCIS case status check page, MSC is not one of the choices shown under:

To view the status of a case, please enter the corresponding application receipt number. The 13-character application receipt number can be found on application notices you have received from the USCIS. It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC)....

Does anyone else's case # begin w/ MSC?

Would be nice if we get the biometrics appt letter this week....before X-mas.

There is no rhyme or reason to this process....some get their check cashed more quickly than others, but wait a long time for their case to make it into the online system, others wait to have their check cashed maybe a little longer, but can more quickly access their case online, others yet.....wait forever and get no notice at all. The possible scenarios are endless, all seem designed to drive us bonkers.

I think they all start with MSC. You're right, though, there's no rhyme or reason. The cases not being in the system is not an indication of anything, it's just that it would be more comforting to be able to view the status and get email updates. But the status info is not always reliable, anyway. I guess we just have to wait (im)patiently until either the cases are added or until we receive information in the mail.

I do wonder, though, if there's a certain point where we need to try to contact USCIS. Like say, two or three months without hearing anything. I wonder also, though, if contacting USCIS would even help, though, since they see what we would see on the status page...

I wonder....as I have a receipt # on the NOA1 (which I have in hard copy), but the case isn't in the case status online page....what would the response be if I called USCIS? Would I get a "your case does not exist" reply??
