"I am a father of four children. For that, I stayed," Manuel Jesus Cordova Soberanes said in Spanish from his home in the Mexican state of Sonora. "I never could have left him."

But he left his own kids in Mexico.......hmmmm.

It's sad to see how we cannot just applaud the man's action of staying with the boy (remember the child's mother DEAD in the car?) and turn this into an illegal immigration debate. Sad indeed.

yawn.........apparently you missed these posts and others who turned it into one.....

Even more amazing that 3 of the 4 posts added are from people associated with Mexico. I wonder why that is? It's a shame people on here can't even say way to go because of their "illegal" hatred.

Thank you for posting this, NavarreMan. I know that you are on the "other" side of this debate, although I wish that I could think of a better way to put it without drawing lines in the sand.

But  to you as well.

He left them so he COULD find a job to feed them. Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices. ;)

i think he'd have made more progress by leaving to go buy condoms years ago.

First of all, it never said the 3 children of his girlfriend were his. It says he has 4 children with his wife and his girlfriend has 3. Now, 4 children may be too many kids. But let's all remember most hispanics are catholic and they don't believe in birth control.

I was going to point that out but then I thought to myself, what's the point? They'll just find something else to go on about. Hatred can't see reason. And karma's a b!tch.

Maybe in 1950 but not post-Vatican 2. Gimme a break. American Catholics seem to be OK at limiting kids.

i agree.. a great story about a caring person ..

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

but isn't this somewhat of a dog chasing it's tail? lots of kids and it's because they are catholic but they need to feed them and that's why they need to come here and etc.....maybe the us government should sue the catholic church eh?

the common sense aspect of it occured to me decades ago, use birth control and don't procreate beyond your ability to support your offspring.

How is that when you sit there and post little sarcastic comments about what people should or shouldn't do in their own families? I mean, it's pretty obvious that you are so blinded by hatred that you can't post a single nice comment on what the guy did. If hatred isn't bad karma, I really don't know what is.
