It would make for an original answer to "how you met" though :innocent:

How nauseating!!!! Yuck, yuck, yuck.

The only good I could see to come out of this (if they choose to make it clear) is that, no, my husband is NOT now a USC because we married.

Did I say yuck?

 Isn't it crazy how many people believe that?

Caro

Reply to add: I meant to say " Isn't it crazy how many people believe that you are a USC after marriage". Sorry, I realized my previous post wasn't clear

and what I ask is..

how will they in fact pass the is this a true relationship part of the whole process..

From day one.. it was set out that this show was to provide spouse solely for immigration status.. is that not correct? therefore.. isnt that giving all of us.. once again. who are trying to do this process the RIGHT way.. a implied wrong impression of the whole situation? grrrrrrrrrrrr...

These shows are al just a slap in the face to everything that is reality.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

ABSOLUTELY. I'm sick of TV shows (ie Will and Grace, where Grace agrees to marry Will's boyfriend so he can stay in the US, and Friends, that suggests Ross and Emily can just get married and she can move to the US and it's all as simple as that) that give out the completely wrong impression that citizenship can be transferred to a foreign fiance.

That's why it's called a TV show, people.

We have enough reality in real life.

1) How else can a gay person stay in the U.S.?

2) Yes, you can move to the U.S. and get married here - it is as simple as that.

I agree!! Me and Mel talk about this! Another case on TV was "My name is Earl" Catalina got deported and Earl and Randy went to Mexico to bring her back- Randy married her and she was on the plane with them coming back.

I can understand how unless you have been through or know someone has been through the process, most people don't know how it really works. Before we got married, we had no clue ourselves.

that episode was so funny. I love My Name is Earl. Everything is easy on tv, people don't know how it is in real life, unless you're an immigrant or married/engaged to one.

wouldn't you think that by participating in that show, the foreigners would break the conditions of their temporary visas? I thought the embassies give those visas based on the fact that the foreigners do NOT have the intention to immigrate to US. Wouldn't participating in that show violate the trust given to them by the embassies when issuing their visas?

it's not like "oh yeah i'm going to the show to meet my soulmate", but "i'm going to the show to meet my 'american' soulmate and stay in US" and that sounds a lot like breaking the conditions for temporary visas.

i wonder how the USCIS feels about this show.
