Hey! I just wanted to let everyone know that my case got delayed because I sent my choice of agent from hotmail. I sent it on Nov 9 and again on the 15th and NVC said they had no record of it. My husband suggested I try another email, so I opened up a gmail account and sent it again yesterday and surprise! NVC has received it! I know that it's likely that some of you used hotmail and succeeded, but I just wanted to warn other people that it might not work. It sucks that I wasted so much time because of this and I have no other explaination for it other than NVC must not allow email from some hotmail addresses.

Good luck to all of you!

Catherine

I am sorry that you had bad experience with hotmails, but others were successful with hotmail. It is a good idea to copy the same email to USC petitioner so that you can be sure of your email was sent. Previously, NVC used to respond choice of agent email in 2-7 days, but it seems to me they are taking longer to reply. I think, emailing and mailing (with return receipt proof) choice of agent right away will be a good idea so that if email will not work, at least, postal mail will.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

If everyone emails and sends a hard copy form aren't we kind of wasting their time? Everytime we send them something someone has to open it, read it, check the file, it just seems like we are doubling up on their work. If you haven't had a response to your email in say 2 weeks or so, then I think it's ok to go ahead and send a hard copy.

Wow toast, sorry your choice of agent got hung up.

The last time I sent NVC email - sent a document, which was late October, it took them 10 days to acknowledge that they had received it.

From what I'm reading here about how long does it take for them to respond on your emails..

I can even consider Snail Mail/Hard Copy a Shortcut..

Cause after I mailed mine, they received it in 3 days. I called on the 4th day and they have processed it already..

I know I had to pay for shipping.. But hey.. I have a proof of mailing.. Certified with Return Signature..
