I have no kitchen to cook in

Oh woe is me :(;)

Nah, to be perfectly honest, I will probably be sick of the sight of turkey in about 3 weeks... I live and work in a hotel and we are just about to start all of our Christmas parties... It's gonna be turkey for breakfast, lunch and dinner for quite some time, lol

It would be nice to be able to sit down with my family and eat it though :) Next year, I can't wait :D

Had it too many times that I'm sick of it. Now I want something a bit more original, and with all of the other really good stuff, I don't like to waste calories on creamed soup. Don't eat much stuff from cans anyway.

Calorific, salty, processed goodness

ewwwww *shudder* LOL

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

Husband likes it, I'm not that keen on it and neither are our boys.

So this year, since it's just us, we won't be making green bean casserole.

We always make our mashed potatoes from scratch (complete with skin). Hubby makes it with butter, milk, velveeta cheese and some bacon bits.

Russet or Red potatoes? :)

Russet (at least, that's what hubby tells me to get). Haven't tried red potatoes yet.

Yukon gold are nice to make the mash-eds from too, leaving the skin on. I make mine with sour cream, cream cheese, fresh chopped parsley, some other seasonings and....definitely leave the skin on. I like potatoes a little lumpy too!!! :D

my sister makes this sweet potato concoction every year but I never really see anybody eating it but they still make it every year

You have to make some things just because of tradition.

I'm anti-sweet potatoes unless they are baked with only butter & S&P on it.

Who eat yams/sweet potatoes anyhow???? And why ON EARTH would one decide marshmallows (beef bone anyone?) go with them???

If no one eats it tho, isn't it a tradition that needs to go? I mean, wasted food & all?

*gag*

Seriously? That sounds way too artificially sweet.

To each his own.

I've also mashed them with butter and cinnamon.
