Folks We received the AOS receipt notice almost 4 weeks ago. However have not received the notice for Biometrics.

AOS receipt date is 10/19/07.

Is this normal... I see most folks received their notices within 2-3 weeks.

Any one in the same boat ?

I had my NOA 1 on 05/15/2007, but didn't have my biometrics letter until 08/24/2007, and the appointment was for 09/21/2007. So you might have a little bit of a wait if you are one of the randomly unlucky ones.

My husband is still in your boat. NOA1 dated October 25, got an RFE Nov. 13 in the mail and mailed it back out yesterday. Do you happen to live in or near Tampa? I have heard from someone, it's slow getting biometric appts. out of Tampa. Thats where we live. I hope this wait can hurry up, my husband just had to stop working and he hates it.

Some offices are slower.

My local office is Tampa. I mailed my AOS on July 27th. It was received on July 31st. I received my NOA on September 4th (Notice Date of 31st August), and then I didn't get my biometrics appointment notice until October 15th. My appointment was scheduled for November 9th. So it took 2 and a half months til i even received my biometrics appointment notice. Patience is a virtue when it comes to immigration.

Hopefully you'll get your's soon, but don't worry if it takes slightly longer til you get it. They haven't forgot about you. :)

Everyone files in Chicago, then their case is forwarded to MSC/NBC (Missouri Service Center/National Benefits Center). Chicago is merely a mail room for receiving the petitions. After MSC you are then sent to your local office or CSC.

Yup - Tampa has been pretty consistently slow over the years with biometrics appointments. See my siggy for EAD #3 for recent experience dates.

Yes, we sent the paper work to Chicago office. I don't think we have the option of sending it anywhere else but to Chicago. (for the type of cases we are dealing with).

Looks like I will be in the same boat, I take it Tampa dont follow the 90 day EAD guidelines??? I really do hope this is not another example that is the legalised immigration horlix that is USCIS......... As much as I love my wife and most parts of my new life over here they really do test the patience of the saints. Is it their intention to do everything they can to deter people from completing the process to reduce the influx?? I read somewhere that K1 has the highest failure rates within the forst two years of marriage, with the extra pressure that this sort of stupidity places on households I am not surprised.

I never actually applied for an EAD, so maybe they give the EAD biometrics faster than the AOS biometrics. Good luck to you.
