Something in the Way She Moves?

By Constance Holden

ScienceNOW Daily News

5 October 2007

In a particularly stimulating study, researchers have found that lap dancers--women who work in strip joints and, for cash, gyrate in the laps of seated men--earn more when they are in the fertile phase of their menstrual cycle. The finding suggests that women subtly signal when they are most fertile, although just how they do it is not clear.

The study's really small. But I don't think it's pheremones as much as it is that women often feel hornier when they're ovulating and cranky when they're menstruating, and for a job that basically requires you to pretend to be interested in the guy, it's not a stretch to think that it's easier to act like you're into the guy when you're not cramped up. And the guys just respond to better more enthusiastic dancing, nothing about them secretly knowing which ones are fertile at all.

This is one of the many studies that prove men are more attracted to women while they are in their fertile days

I even remember cosmo doing articles on how your skin and hair looks better that time of the month

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

TIP FOR ALL STRIPPERS: THE DIRTIER THE DANCE THE BIGGER THE TIPS!

Lap dances are never "DIRTY"! Strippers are known as wood gatherers!

I would agree with Caladan...except for the bizarre phenomena with some women that makes them extra randy when they are menstruating. Mind you, how can we really speculate when we don't know how they came to their conclusions? I guess the most interesting thing is, why did they conduct this study in the first place?????

I think it's more that women who are ovulating are horny. But even so, it's not like the woman doesn't know she's menstruating or ovulating, so I'm wondering why all the behavioral explanations are being ignored in favor of the pheremonal ones.

That's what I meant though, some menstruating women get horny, so why isn't there a skew that way? Of course, that could be a small minority with the rest being floored by cramps or the cramping overriding the horniness. Regardless, I agree. The extract seems to suggest it's something in the way she moves <_<, which is more behavioral than pheromonal.

I still want to know what the reason for the research was though, I mean, what possible use can be gained from the results of such a study? Answers on a postcard please.
