Hey I was just watching the recent episode of Anthony Bourdain in Tuscany and all of these normal people were making their own wine! I mean they were not rich or anything, but just ordinary people and Anthony was saying how good it was. So, I was wondering, why can't I do that? I mean how many times have you dashed out to the store to get that bottle of wine for dinner? Or berated your husband for leaving the store without a Merlot :bonk: Or having friends over and after you pour yourself a few glasses of wine, they have none to drink :( . I mean think about it, If I am spending say $18 for a bottle of wine when I could make my own..How much money could I save? I won't do the math ;) ,but I think it would be substantial. OK, just my thoughts

I've never made wine, but quite a few of our friends in Italy did. Not that good wine is very expensive there to begin with. Lucky bastards!

Oh don't I know it. I had some of the best house wine in Roma for like $3 a glass! I gotta get back there!!!!

We did that in college. We always had 3-4 different wines brewing - each in those huge 12 gallon containers. Good parties. Good times.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Actually, as lng as you stick with the very dry wines, there isn't much of a hangover. It's the sweet stuff that kills you.

That's been happening for hundreds of years. The giant winery thing is relatively new.

I say make your own.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Oh aye, now that be true! I love a good wine and especially a good muscadine or scuppernong wine. My husband and I are seriously considering growing our own muscadines and/or scuppernongs to make our own as well. A good blush (the wine, not the face) is usually another favourite. My least favourite is the ones that make my mouth feel like cotton. Yeck!
