I've just gotten pretty upset with how Burger King's workers work. The last 2 weeks I've had two bad experiences going to a BK. I almost never go there but last week I was driving to work and had a sugar craving, I felt like a sundae before being stuck the next 5 hours with customers upset and screaming at me.

I stopped at a BK close to work and ordered a strawberry sundae, and also ordered a whopper Jr. (just the sandwich, not the combo) to take home to my hubby. The place was empty except for 2 people waiting for their orders. There were 3 workers chatting and discussing and laughing with one of the people waiting for their food. Obviously they were friends. Anyway, I noticed the girl preparing the sandwiches wasn't doing anything, and the girl preparing the drinks, shakes, and putting orders together wasn't either, and I stood there staring at them until they looked at me and the other woman waiting and realized they were supposed to be doing something. Finally after about 10 minutes the girl comes to me with the paper bag with a whooper Jr. inside, cold, old looking fries and a soda. I said to her I had ordered a sundae and a whopper, not a combo. She just said "yes m'am, but we don't have any ice cream mixture right now to make the sundae, so I just put down the combo". I had a little discussion with her about telling the cx they are out of thing they want and not just shove something else they didn't order, but since I had paid with a debit card, was running late to get into work (it was 10 min before 6 pm, I get in at 6), and knew it'd be a mess to try and get my money back and left after complaining about the service. I did notice there were NO managers on the establishment.

Now, a week later, and that was yesterday, I was coming home from work and decided to stop to get a chicken whopper and onion rings, at a different BK. This was in a drive thru. I was especific in saying I wanted the chicken whopper NOT in a combo, and an order of onion rings. She confirmed the sandwich and onion rings and I moved on to pay and then get my bag. For some reason I didn't look inside the bag until I was home and ready to eat, only to find I had the sandwich and fries, not onion rings.

So, what the heck is wrong with BK?

Very true, I've had mistakes done before at Fast Food joints, but not with so little time between them and not so screwed up as the first example. I am not loyal to any fast food joint and I usually avoid them whenever possible (the one I like to go to is Subway), but due to schedule I hadn't done any grocery shopping this week and decided to stop, and last week, like I said, it was a sundae craving (which remained since I didn't get it).

Fast Food = Poor Service, it is that simple. You get what you pay for.

Of course, it's these cravings that the fast food joints rely on, which is sad as after the 'fix' one is mostly left with a feeling of disappointment, at least that was my experience before I weened myself off junk food :P

the problem is contained in your first experience you posted - they are lazy and don't give a ####### about their job. and apparently the management there sucks too.

every bk i went to in virginia when i'd go there, it was always similar. i felt like i needed signs to hold up as the work was clueless.

We don't have BK in Rio (Brazil) but the McDonald's service there was way better than this, at least in my experience, and also at Bob's, local fast food joint, I remember I would take things home and if there was any mistake I'd call them and they'd just trust my word and bring me the correct food to my doorstep, that was pretty cool.

My equivalent is that I cook every day, my fast food cravings are usually pizza and chinese. Like I said these were exceptions so it's not like I depend on burger joints to eat, at all, I love eating homemade rice, beans, salad and meat. I was just a bit taken aback to see how bad the quality of service in these places are these days, I've always known fast food joints to have bad food and bad service but not SO bad.

I meant a 'Bob's' type joint for those occasional cravings, I wasn't trying to imply anything else. I guess my take is, I am not suprised by bad food/bad service in chain fast food joints.

Based on your experiences.. I do think that this is one of the main reasons to call or contact the corporate office of B K.

E-mail communication is not accepted.

Your experience is not acceptable ... It doesn't matter if it is FAST FOOD or .. FINE DINING.

you money is spent for what you wanted.. and you were not given what you asked for nor the QUALITY of what you expected...

Unless people speak up .. this same thing will continue.. daily..

The store you went to could in fact be a Franchise branch.. not upholding the standards of BK. And if there was no management to be found.. unacceptable..

In my younger years... ie 20yr old.. I was a manager for BK for 2 years in Hawaii... then continued to the Competition.. McD's where I worked for 9 yrs..

The Corporation for either of these companies have strict standards for their businesses.. like most companies..

What you got on your visit was not acceptable.. it doesn't matter if it was icecream.. or onionrings.. what you bought was what you asked for not what the choice of the day was..

Go to Wendy's. Much better fast food. IMHO. They are fast and rarely mess up my order.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
