My fiance has been paying partial payments to her college for classes she took in the past. They have been working with her thru payment arrangements to satisfy the debt, but they are telling her they have to report it to her credit and possibly place a judgement against her to make sure she pays the balance.

My question is, will this have any effect on the outcome for her visa process or during the interview?

Credit worthiness has nothing to do with your visa application. What they will be looking for is you are above the 125% poverty guidelines.

Beneficiary's financials are not considered at all for the visa, only the petitioner's income is considered for the visa.

i just went thru this. I filed bankruptcy and my fiance was scared this would affect his visa. It did not. They don't look at your credit history, they look at the income coming in to whom ever is the sponser. Fortuanly his brother signed the papers for that, because my income wouldn't meet their guidlines.

Hi ,

When you ask for a bank loan here in colombia and you fail at least in one payment you get reported like a thieving and they don't let you ask for loans in any other bank I think it would be a problem if she wants to go out of the country without finishing paying for that loan because the may think she is running away from the loan in order to don't pay and they may deny her to go out .It is better to make sure if they allow her to keep paying the loan from out site of the country or if she can do it through somebody else after she leaves :star:.
