I know that they have up to 90 days to send a NOA1 BUT that does not mean in my opinion that they have the right to do so just because they seem not to be able to catch up with their work load. I agree with skp on this: it's nice that they help out the other centers but they have a job to do within their own region, too. The whole screw-up with the employment-based petitions and the raise of the fees collided with USCIS inability to plan ahead and foresee that an increase in fees will lead to more petitions therefore they would need more employees to deal with data management.

90 days all nice and well but all the people who filed at the beginning of August get nearer to that mark and if USCIS VSC doesn't catch up they will be hearing from a lot of representatives and senators because I don't think that the way they're handling it is right.

Biazo,

What Service center are you going through. Has your check at least been cancelled? 90 days of NO info is crazy. I just filed last week and I would hate to think I have to wait til mid January just to get some sort of info. I might just lose my mind then.

The strange thing is that we sent it to the Texas center (not to the vermonth like many other people who have the same problems). I think they`ve just lost it (coz according to the information on their site they are doing the end of august now) . The check was not cashed and not cancelled My husband will try to find out about it again today or tomorrow.

Wow that is crazy that the check is still not cashed. I think the TSC I-130's are transferred to CSC...is this correct? I hear that people are waiting a long time for NOA1's but the check is cashed long before they get the NoA1 in the mail so at least then you know the paperwork has been accepted. Not having a cashed check is just plain ludicrous. I hope you get info soon.

Hello All,

I am fellow August I-130 Filer and totally disguted with the VSC. I cannot believe that VSC has not moved in WEEKS. It all comes down to money. They have prioritized current Employment based visas or future ones etc as they are the ones who currently or soon will bring in taxes/revenues for the government. Heck with spouses and other related categories.

It is a nice gesture to help other Centers but Charity beigns at home. VSC - Catch up yourselves before helping others.

I am not sure if I should just stop looking at updates, looking at the VJ website, and bank cleared checks. Maybe, laying low and not giving attention to any of this, at least I will not be frustrated and dissappointed every single day.

Take care all - skp

I'm thinking that's what I will do... This site is the best think out there but doesn damn little for us right now but brings out hate.

See I hate stupidity, I hate lack of planning, I hate ineffieciency, and I hate a lack of accountability.

Most of all I hate telling my wife i don't know a damn thing about anything. That we don't even have a lousy case number for them to BEGIN the process of f'in with us.

bye from this board for a self-imposed 3 week wait.

I'm also going to quit looking to see if my check was cashed.

Q : Will my application be rejected if my check expires? NEW

No. When USCIS receives notice that your check has expired, we will notify you and suspend processing on your case. You will be given an opportunity to send a new check at the original filing rate and filing date to resume processing of your application. USCIS will contact you if your check has been returned to us because it is beyond the expiration date.

wonderful... That means when the time finally comes, it'll be an extra go-round at mail-tag with these idiots and take another 393 years for them to open up the envelope again...
