Nevada authorities arrested a Bend, Ore., man Sunday after his 2-year-old daughter was found alone in a car parked at the Mustang Ranch brothel, reported KPTV-TV in Beaverton.

The brothel's security guard found the child crying.

Storey County deputies said they believe the child was left in a vehicle for two hours in 95-degree heat.

Deputies said they found the girl's father, Lucien Hoffman, inside the brothel attending a private function when they arrived.

The toddler was treated for dehydration and released to Nevada Division of Child and Family services.

Hoffman, who is not married, has joint custody of the child with her mother, who also lives in Bend.

Hoffman was being held at the Storey County Detention Facility on $40,000 bail.

Purple Hibiscus I am waiting..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

You think this is the first time a child has been left waiting while a father visits a prostitute?

Clearly, this man was behaving reprehensibly and irresponsibly to say the least (if the story presented is a fair and acurate view of what happened), but it's not representation of a 'bigger picture' in terms of general parental behaviour any more than any of the other stories were.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yup.

Thing I don't get is that you only have to sit in a car in 95f heat for a minute and it gets unbearable. When you get into a car after leaving it for hours then it is also unbearable.

Do people not understand that if you leave a child or an animal in a car it is going to get VERY hot and probably kill them? I mean, what gives?

Actually, a lot of these people simply forget about their kids... :(

I hope this guy goes to jail, and I sure hope he loses custody of his daughter.

EDWARDSVILLE — A 35-year-old mother of two left her children alone at home for more than a hour so she could buy drugs, according to criminal charges filed today in Madison County.

LeeAnn J. Chappel, of the 500 block of Pine St. in unincorporated Rosewood Heights, was charged with a felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the life or health of a child. Chappel was charged in Madison County Circuit Court in Edwardsville.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office gave this account of the incident, which happened on Monday.

About 7 a.m. Monday, a report came into the Sheriff’s Office that Chappel left her house and her 2- and 6-year-old children at home for more than an hour. She allegedly was on her way to buy crack cocaine.

When she returned to her home, a sheriff’s deputy was there, investigating the complaint.

The deputy also found what was tested to be crack cocaine in her vehicle.

She was taken to Madison County Jail and her husband was called home from work to take care of the children.

Associate Judge Janet Heflin signed the warrant and criminal information, setting her bond at $15,000.
