USCIS ISSUES SERVICE CENTER AND LOCKBOX RECEIPTING UPDATE

WASHINGTON - USCIS announced today that it has experienced a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, which has resulted in a front log of cases awaiting data-entry. USCIS is making every effort to address the delay.

USCIS will prioritize data entry for specific form-types. Delay in data entry and fee receipting will not affect Change of Status or Extension of Stay eligibility, assuming all other eligibility requirements are satisfied. USCIS would also like to assure its customers that requests for Premium Processing Service will continue to be processed within 15 days, consistent with existing policies and procedures.

The actual received date will be honored and recorded on the receipt notice. This date will appear in the “Received Date” box on Form I-797, Notice of Action. The received date on Form I-797 is different from the “Notice Date,” which also appears on the Notice and identifies the date the receipt notice was actually generated.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will provide weekly updates to give our customers accurate information about current receipt times and service level commitments

oh one more question

if I look at processing times

for Nebraska center

there is no I-130 processing times

the only location is California Center

I sent my application to Nebraska

Is there any reason why they do not have processing times for this location?

The Nebraska and Texas Service Centers have been sending all petitions to the California Service Center for over a year now. You can try calling the USCIS for information but they will most likely tell you to wait.

Hi, you can make an iquiry....just call customer service, you'll have to push a few different buttons to get a live person. The call line will ask for a reciept number and then it gives you an option for no reciept number, pick that then it will forward you to a representitive. I had to do the same thing. I waited like a month and didn't hear anything. Then I called and they said yes they recieved it but that they were having printing errors, so they gave me my reciept number and now I can follow it online. Hope this helps!

We filed our I-130 at CSC, it was received there on 08-10-2007 according to the post office. We haven't yet got a notification, or the check cashed.

According to the most recent update on the 24th August they've processed up till 08-14-2007 so I'm hoping we'll get some notification soon.

Be nice just to be reassured that the process is underway!

USCIS Application and Petition Receipting Update

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises customers that, due to a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, processing of fee payments and entry of cases into our tracking system is behind schedule. As a result, applicants can expect notices of receipt to be delayed. USCIS is working hard to deal with the increased volume.

Delay in fee processing and data entry will not affect an applicant’s Change of Status or Extension of Stay eligibility if all other eligibility requirements are met. USCIS continues to process Premium Processing Service requests within 15 days.

USCIS will honor the actual date that an application was received in our mailroom; this date will be indicated on the receipt (in the Received Date box) when Form I-797, Notice of Action, is mailed. Until this situation is resolved, USCIS will provide these weekly updates on progress in issuing receipt notices to our customers. We appreciate your understanding.
