Uh now that the fee increase is in effect, isn't there just one fee and therefore only one check? Before, we had to send separate checks for AOS (incl biometric fee) and EAD.

The fee of 930 is for the I-485, the 80 USD is for the biometrics. Now, if you decided to apply for EAD and AP, and you are filing I-485, then you dont have to pay for those. In the instructions for the I-485 says that you can send one check for the total (1010) or two checks for the two amounts.

For AOS and Biometrics one check is find but anything else like EAD etc, you need separate checks for all. I sent one for everything and they sent them back.

since the new fee increment of July 30th, the EAD and the AP is included IF you are submitting the I-485 with the new fee (930 USD).

I think that filing one check for both AOS and biometrics is BETTER. I sent two checks. They cashed the AOS check, then returned the other, saying the fee was inadequate for the I-129F. (I'd sent in a copy of our 2006 I-129F as support for the I-485.) The local USCIS office is working on straightening things out. But one check would have prevented this particular USCIS foolishness.
