We had our interview today and it could not have been easier.

We had our interview today in downtown los angeles at 12:25, but we arrived about 40 minutes early. Got to the 8th floor and they called us in 10 minutes early. Swore us in and all the officer took from us was our son's birth certificate, then told us to wait outside for 20 minutes and came back with an aproval letter. WOW didn't check anything else, I had all the copies, pictures and proof of relationship, and didn't even use it.

Our officer was very nice and friendly, I guess the having the baby with us helped our case. But finally over with until I apply for citizenship in the 3 years. I pray that all of you have a smooth journey ahead.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Was it the first Thanksgiving in the US for some of you? If so what did you think about it?

As for me I'm waiting an other week to call USCIS again. Oh I know they'll tell me the same thing, but at least I'll feel like I'm helping my file not to be used to clean the windows. I plan to ask if I cleared the FBI namecheck or not, I heard that some people were able to find out about that before, it's worth a try at least.

I see that your I-485 is still not online. So if when you call in and they ask for the receipt number (when talking to a person) give them your I-485 number instead of the I-130 and they will probably transfer you to an actual IO. He/She will then be able to tell you if you have cleared the FBI namecheck as well, as the front line customer service people will have no idea. Hope this helps and good luck to all still waiting for news of any type (including me)

Well 4/5 times I have called I have been transferred due to the receipt number that wasnt readable. Sometime you get a weird person I think and you just have to call again. Is 5 times getting compulsive?
