I am going for the medical exam next Wednesday, October 24th. They will send me at that time for my MMR immunization as I have nothing that shows I ever had a rubella shot.

I have everything else on the checklist but now I am getting confused about the Affidavit of support. Does my husband need to complete one? I have not seen a request in any of our documents or letters received that state we need it. If we do, which one? There appears to be a I-134 and an I-864 along with an I-864A and an I-864EZ.

There is also mention in the Vancouver, Canada US Embassy/Consulate Info section of an OF-167. What is that and do we need it for our purposes?

Just wondering when should I expect my appointment letter?(packet4).

I am getting so so excited about the interview!

Can I call them that I am ready?Or PATIENTLY( )wait for the packet4?

Call them and ask. You have waited so long and it is normal now to be eager. In Bulgaria the procedure is different. They don't send Packet 4 but interview appointment is arranged by phone when the applicant is ready with documents. Wish you luck!

Please disregard my previous message. I emailed the Vancouver Consulate yesterday and got a response this morning.....they are so quick. They advised I only need what is on the checklist so I don't need Will to complete an Affidavit of Support.

i have my uncle as our co-sponsor. He is a doctor and owns his own clinic. well i got a copy of his income tax return from last year and there are over 70 pages.

so i am just curious... would the consulate people actually look at all these papers. its mind boggling. i mean most of the information that is any use to our case is in the first 4 pages.

They might glance through it all, but will probably know exactly which lines and pages to look at. They'll probably just look at those lines/items and then file it. I would include it all though, just in case.

I have spent a fair amount of time organizing paperwork, so I'm not worried at all. I have read and re-read and re-re-read packet 3 to make sure I have all the information that they will require, and it's in an accordian file folder in the order they want it. I have also read the embassy reviews for my wife's country just to double check that we have the same paperwork as they have been requiring recently. The reviews will also give you a good idea of what to expect for the interview (i.e. how many questions, how long of a wait, how nice or grumpy  the workers are, etc.) She has done everything she needs to do and I have all the paperwork I needed to get done, so we're set! The only thing left to do is show up and show them that we're in love  As long as you have all your paperwork in order, just relax and take a deep breath. You'll get the visa

My wife and I are so unworried that we're planning things to do once she gets here :) Don't worry....be excited!!!

Hey Everyone!

A little update again from me:

I called the Embassy today.I asked them whether I could schedule my interview by phone,B'cause I am ready for it.

I was told by a gentleman to call back this thursday and we can schedule an appointment. :)

Unfortunately I cannot call them tomorrow because tomorrow is a national holiday in my country.

I wish everyone goooood luck !

Who else has an interview this week? Good luck to everyone who does

Our interview is this Friday. I am flying down to Peru to go to the interview with my wife and to bring her back. She would probably freak out if she had to go through customs and find her way through the Houston airport by herself :o If all goes according to plan, we'll be back on Halloween  Wish us luck!

I am so mad about this.. just because we apply one month late, we have to wait much longer now.. :crying: :crying: I actually cried this time when I left China... she made me cry at the airport.. :crying: :crying: I really miss her and want to be together.. why can't we at least get approved?.. That is better than nothing.. they say they are looking at our case now.. but they said they need up to 30 days to do a "REQUIRED INVESTIGATION".. these kind of cases require it, they said... I already work for the government, so they already did a background check on me... that is so stupid.. they should do background checks (and IQ checks) on these USCIS officers.. they should put quotas as to how many they should finish in 1 day...
