I have a few questions, mainly why are there so many Approvals showing for September when the previous months have very little approvals ? Have the USCIS made a statement about this ? Or am I not understanding the graph? I of course am very happy for everyone who is getting approvals, but it seems the majority of cases before September are only in the DOS stage, isn't that the NOA2 ? Seems like the most approvals for a previous month was 21 (June) but Sept is showing 174 approvals already.

Any answers appreciated - guess I am still just trying to learn the steps, even though I feel like I have read them 500 times ....

As @Edward and Jaycel pointed out, I wouldn't trust the stats from a third party website.  As with anything, they are only as good as the data input into the model and that data is only representative of the users that are using that resource.  Hundreds of thousands of people are going through different immigration processes at any given time, so it's not going to be accurate.

The people to ask would be the web site

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

DOS is the Department of State. After USCIS approved the K1 Visa, they send it to the DOS. In other words, a typical approval with "Request for Evidence (RFE)" goes along the line of "Case Received" > "Approved" > "DOS" on their site.

Again, like multiple others mentioned, the numbers are not accurate. You can use it for timeline and rough estimate at best.
