You are the petitioner?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, I am the petitioner. Should have included that, Sorry!

USCIS sometimes (not often) requires petitioners to submit biometrics.  Perhaps they are ensuring your identity or checking something in your background.  I would assume it means you are closer to some decision. Hopefully, you will receive an approval notice soon.

Correct. This happens when there is reason to verify your identity relative to some issue that may or may not be relevant to you.  Could be somebody with a similar name, or yourself, with a previous immigration related issue.  The biometrics will rule you out or in to the relevant concern.

A Warning to Green Card Holders About Voting

Just an update:

Had my biometrics today as a petitioner. Was Code 5 -----> Fingerprint right hand (index and middle finger) photo and signature .

What is interesting:

1.) Met the lady that did the biometrics at the bus stop today. For some reason, I took a closer look at her. During the process, the question came up if she was the person I probably saw at the bus stop and she answered in the affirmative. She then said you are doing this biometrics because you are going to be "responsible soon and that is why you are here and they are not". Thought that was interesting.

2.} Few hours later after the biometrics, my old petition (I-130 Petition for Alien Relative, filed about 4-yrs ago) got updated with today's date saying it is still under processing. However, the form I-129F (Petition for Alien Fiancee) which was the reason for the biometrics is still at NOA1. huh!

So am still wating but if you are scheduled for bio code 5, don't sweat it. Appears to be an easy process. The "wait" time is what makes me jittery. Let's keep hoping and hoping till all get done. If anyone has similar experiences (I-129F and or I-130}, you can add to the story to keep the reading public occupied as we wait. lol!

For clarification purposes:

NOTE: I-130 and I-129F are for two separate individuals (i.e., 130 for my biological sister and 129F for soon to-be-wife)

RULE OF THUMB: As you go through your biographical data during the biometric process, please do not forget to check every information vividly and cease the opportunity to correct stuffs in the system as necessary. After all these years of citizenship, I found out that my "country of birth" was still the same as my "country of citizenship". So see the biometric exercise as a blessing than anything else. I may be wrong. lol!
