Valley named 10th-most moved-to region in U-Haul rankings

 

The Brownsville-McAllen metro region is ranked 10th in the latest U-Haul Growth Index migration data, which tracks one-way moves by its customers over the prior calendar year.


Brownsville-McAllen was the 10th most moved-to region out of 25 top metro areas analyzed in the Growth Index — much better than its previous showing, according to U-Haul.


"While the two cities are 60 miles apart, U-Haul groups them as one area along with neighboring communities near the Texas southern border for metro data and migration trends purposes," the company said.  "The Brownsville-McAllen metro climbs 11 spots from its ranking on the U-Haul Growth Index in 2024."

 

Texas accounts for six of the top 25 U.S. metro growth areas, including the top three: Dallas, Houston and Austin.  Dallas was also in the number-one spot for 2024, according to U-Haul.  Charlotte, North Carolina and Phoenix, Arizona, are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, for 2025.  [...]

It does get hot, but "too hot" is relative.  No need to stay in the Midwest and be cold.

I'm a Central Chimpanzee originally from Africa, but I got to Texas as fast as I could.

 

Back to topic:  The RGV has grown incredibly, and such things as medical care (hospitals, etc.) have improved markedly over the years.
