A couple of weeks ago my son had his IR2 interview and it was approved. I was told that I should hear something from Aramex  within 2 weeks to get his passport, but I haven't heard anything as of yet. I called last Friday and I was told by Aramex that they haven't received the passport from the embassy yet. Is this normal?

closed 12/25 and 1 /1 /2026 so this could take awhile

on top of the embassy giving priority interviews to FIFA ticket holders for the world cup making the embassy quite busy

u can try contacting the embassy and tell them u need to fly out in 10 days and the 2 year old has to have a parent on flight

OR your wife (who got green card IR1 a year ago) needs to fly with him if visa is not ready by your flight out

she should be in Moroc for this/ if she's not already, she may need to fly over

Just verbally told approved (which means nothing) or approved status online? His status will say ‘issued’ when the visa has actually been printed and placed in the passport.

Ohh I didn't know this. Yes she did get it a year ago. Would you happen to have the embassy's email address please?

I was told that it's approved, and given a regular piece of paper which says approved and I had to wait until I hear back from aramex on the back. Where do I see that? On his USCIS case page or NVC portal?

It would be on the usual CEAC status page - https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx?TSPD_101_R0=0883343043ab2000211a2fa8887c1a10016ec46a54b53798361ab061f4dca95110b19611bc902fc708c47495d1143000d1201e63b6eab506e042128432535378b0290f747348128a53b4fd85b4a80a842ac5b54e815ac68f7e86c250a3a6c372

What does it say on there?

Great, so it’s been printed on 22nd. Shouldn’t be too much longer then. 👍🏻

Do you reckon that I should contact the consulate still to ask when to expect the passport back? Because I still have to apply for an ETA for him since we're transiting through Canada and he's not allowed on the country with his moroccan passport without that travel authorization
