Just wanted to share that my wife has officially submitted her N-400 under the 3-year rule   Couldn’t have got this far or done this without this community.

Thank you everyone for the congratulations. I have to say I am very happy and relieved.

Whilst waiting to be called through for my interview, several officers came through the door in fairly casual clothing and called people through in a very friendly relaxed manner. I was called through by my surname by a very stern suited officer. He did not put me at ease at all. He took my passport and studied it for a good while then made a comment as to why I had a cancelled visa in my passport. I had a tourist B2 visa 6 or 7 years ago which I used for my trips to the U.S. before applying for my IR1 spousal green card. At the interview for my green card a few years ago they took my passport, and cancelled the tourist visa before issuing the green card visa. It is absolutely correct and there is nothing wrong with that, and I totally wasn’t expecting this to be a problem. I got asked several questions about this before we could move on. This made me panic and I was very uncomfortable through out the remainder of the interview. It felt like the longest 20 minutes of my life. At the end of the interview when I was told I had passed the officer did manage a small smile. The  test was straight forward, I was asked the 12 questions and got them all correct. I guess for me I was so focused on that civics test that I wasn’t prepared for the adhoc questions.

Anyway, I was just unlucky I think, I had never heard of anyone else having a stern officer.
