Is your NEXUS card issued by the US or Canada? While I was on 2-year GC and US-issued NEXUS I took the extension letter to my local enrollment center and had them update the system to reflect the extended GC validity. Like with all things NEXUS, any updates need to be made both in US and Canada systems since they are separate, so I had to send scans to CBSA as well...

I guess issued by US? I did my Canadian interview first then my US one. Got the card in the mail at my home in the US. How do I tell who issued it? If it helps the mail came from Washington DC so I’m assuming the US.

I don’t think there is an enrollment center anywhere near me. I did both my interviews at the Canadian airport. Is there a website I can go to that tells me the steps of how to update this information

If you applied through https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov your card is issued by the US and then you can log into your account there to see which information they have registered on the US side, including validity of your documents. Some things can be updated online, but as far as I know extension letters etc need to be shown in-person. You don't need an appointment for updates like that though.

Gotcha. I’m wondering if next time I travel to Canada, I can just update the information there as they have the enrollment center right there for both Canada and US. The closest enrollment center to where I live is a 9 Hour Drive.

Yep, you should be able to drop in. If they have officers from both countries available at the time they can update both sides while you wait. US officers can only touch the US-side system and vice versa. I've had updates done on the fly but I have also had to call/email CBSA to get the Canadian side updated, YMMV.

Hello all,

I am a CR1 with an expired green card but have the 48 month extension letter.

I also have Nexus/global entry as I am a Canadian citizen. When I got my car and my green card expiration date was still valid. My question is can I still use my global entry/nexus with the extension letter?

Sure. I flew a lot with GE while I-751 was pending

Did you have to update your green card expiry in the global entry system while your I751 was pending?

I didn't update expiration date on GE portal because I wasn't sure I was allowed to do it without new GC. But people on VJ did it just fine.

I tried enrollment center twice on different days at the airport, and they were denying updating their system with extension letter (laziness or lack of knowlwdge).

Also wanted to ask, when traveling with my family (spouse and child who are both us citizens), should I still use the global entry at the airport or go with them in the regular line as they do not have their global entry cards yet?

Asking if it’s weird to use different lines for the same family for customs or better for me to go with them as I’m the one with the expired card and extension letter.

I would never go in a separate line from my family just because it would be convenient for me.
